Vermont’s socialist democrat Senator Bernie Sanders was once the toast of the left. He said all the right things about any given subject, promoted socialism, and was consistently voted the most popular politician in America. Now, it would appear Sanders’s political career has lived long enough to see him become the villain.
It looks as if the left is now turning on him. Big time.
Sanders apparently made the unforgivable move of ruining Neera Tanden’s chances for the Biden administration’s Management and Budget office. Sanders questioned Tanden about her “vicious attacks” against both Republicans and hard-leftists, including himself....
Sanders being on the same side as Manchin might as well be Sanders being on the same side as Trump and the left took to Twitter to see to it that Sanders was put on blast for his sins....

Bernie’s true believers won’t abandon him.
No doubt the deep-state DC Democrats will attack him - again. And like the spineless hack he is, he will take it lying down. One would think that after having Democrat primary elections rigged against him, twice, he would oppose his DNC-deep state masters a bit more.
I swear they are paying Sanders off to keep the Bernie bots in the Party.

Very true. Many of Stalin’s executioners were later themselves executed. I don’t know who is playing the part of Stalin in this drama, but it sure ain’t Bernie. And it sure ain’t Biden.

You’re very close. Bernie’s purpose is in part as you stated, to provide a magnet to bring and keep the disaffected wannabee socialists in the party.
Bernie’s other purpose is to marginalize them and keep them frustrated, with the slightest side portion of hope to keep them in line.
They intended for Trump to perform a similar role in the Republican party. His role was to be the fringe, ‘clown’ candidate. How dare he go and win?!
Bernie has always been a poser. His only real goal as a politician has been self-enrichment.
How come he gets a pass. Black voters stayed away from him like he was radioactive. I wonder if Trump got more black votes than Sanders?
