Channeling Energy causes an explosion that affects all creatures of a type (living or undead) within 30 feet centered on the cleric. The amount of damage dealt or healed is equal to 1d6 points of damage plus 1d6 points of damage for every two cleric levels beyond the first (2d6 at 3rd level, 3d6 at 5th level, etc.). Creatures that take damage from channeled energy take a Will Saving Roll to cut the damage in half.
The DC of this save is equal to 10 + half the cleric level + the cleric's Charisma modifier. Creatures healed by channeled energy cannot exceed their maximum hit points (all excess is lost). A cleric can channel energy a number of times per day equal to 3 + his Charisma modifier. This is a standard action that does not provoke attacks of opportunity. A cleric can choose whether or not to include himself in the effect. A Simple weapons must be able to raise his holy symbol to use this ability.
