Here is what you do. If they pass this law, during the first five year buy new hand guns. Keep them in the box, pristine like collectibles. At the 9.5 year mark, sell those pistols for probably 10 times what you paid for them originally.

Seriously, they will be as good as gold. Imagine having to try and find the watch in the dark, that enables your gun while an intruder is in the house. Pistols without smart tech will be worth thousands on the market. Black market guns will be through the roof. Biden is the second coming of Obama in more ways then one. Gun and ammo prices are through the roof. I went to a gun dealer who is a friend and we have done business in the past. As a friend he would not sell me a gun. An AK or AR platforms are selling for five times what he bought them for. They will not sustain the value over time so he did not feel right selling me a gun for what he is getting at gun shows. He is almost sold out of everything except his personally collection. He earned well over $20K at one gun show and these are small shows. He has been a collector of Russian and Old Eastern Bloc weapons long before it was cool to own an AK. He used to have multiple storage units filled with weapons, ammo and accessories. He no longer needs the storage units. He had ammo cans of Russian steel ammo. It tears up American made weapons but is fine for Eastern Bloc. He had trouble selling it about five years ago, he has none left today. I am telling you these stupid laws are a gold mine.

Doesn’t matter if “it is all talk”. The social-democrat-communist party WANTS TO OUTLAW GUNS. (Has to outlaw guns.) That the “ability” to comply with the law (that it is physically impossible to retrofit 100 million guns, to build and successfully test a “smart gun” retrofit) is irrelevant!

“The Law says you cannot sell a gun that is not retrofitted. “ => “Therefore, you have broken the law and you must be arrested and your guns confiscated and destroyed.”

THAT is their goal.

Exactly. When all Secret Service, Federal, state, and local law enforcement officers have had mandated smart guns for ten years, with no issues from guns not firing when needed, I’ll be willing to look at this.

Because hey, I certainly don’t want someone who isn’t me or my wife to be able to fire any of my guns, but if she or I pull the trigger any time of the day or night, sweaty hands, under stress, etc. that thing BETTER fire. That’s the whole reason I don’t buy cheap guns or cheap ammo (not that anything is cheap right this second). I demand perfect performance in life-or-death situations. Don’t just promise that with these “smart guns”; DEMONSTRATE it, then we’ll talk.

If he is selling ARs for 5 times the regular market price, then he is gouging the crap out of the suckers buying them. We are selling them at a standard markup.

I’d love to have a smart rifle:

One that fires itself when aimed at known Marxists.

You are also assuming that there won’t be a mandatory gun registration where if you are caught with an unregistered gun or without a registered gun you are jailed.

With the number of guns that already exist and will be produced before any such legislation, plus what an inevitable black market will produce, they will be around for generations. This BS is just symbolic of oppression, control, and denial of rights. And making a liberal feel good.

Get the price of ammo back to where it was and my guns will be smarter because the person holding it will have more training and practice and, ergo, be more competent and smarter.

The March for Our Lives marchers have been mostly women by far.

Problem is that they’ll demonstrate the so-called smart guns, and they’ll perform perfectly...for them, at the time. As for cheap firearms, at least some of them aren’t as bad as previous cheap ones. Some of them require working men (technically inclined) to deburr them a little here and there (mostly magazine feed lips), and they work perfectly. Others are new American made models that required the usual re-engineering for a few years. A couple of the derringers are a little wicked to handle.

And don’t mind the mess of dealers using provocateurs to run down their competition on YouTube. I’ve found that most of those are exaggerated or untrue.

The more expensive all steel/alloy frame pistols are better in one noticeable way, though. Those frames will still be strong and working after 50 years. Don’t know about polymers, especially if left out in the sunlight or exposed to much heat.

On ammunition, I avoid the steel case stuff—hard on extractors. Everything else that a manufacturer recommends for the specific firearm seems to work fine.

Ho.

I got an idea. Make a “smart” weapon such that anytime a democrat fires a weapon, it permanently disables the shooter.

5.56mm

Its all talk. Its not happening.

You're damn' right it's not happening. The Democrats pass a law like this and get it signed by Xiden every gun manufacturer in the US will either shut down or stop selling weapons here.

Far as the Democrats are concerned, this is just one "creative" way of getting around the Second Amendment and accomplishes one of their goals in turning this country into Venezuela.

If I buy five pistols now, register them later and sell them through an FFL, they will just cost more when I sell them.
