This does NOTHING for the “climate”. In fact, it makes it worse if you look at the total energy picture. These people are morons.

Great! When the FIB or others are chasing evil conservatives, they will run out of power while we zoom away on our forbidden gas powered engines getting 20+ miles to the gallon....

As long as the FBI and DOJ are compelled to use them.

And just where does all this “Electricity” to charge these vehicles come from?
All the world’s problems are easy to solve when you are an idiot.

Curious how they’ll make the F16 run electric.

And the M1A1.

Government bought thousands of CNG vehicles in the 90’s.
You could snap them up at GSA auctions for a song, most
with 20k miles on the odometer.

I worked on the Army’s Crusader, one of the most powerful, autoloaded guns ever. I can’t remember the weight, but the army was insisting that we needed to design an electric version. I discussed it with the designers at GD and they confirmed the idea was idiotic. Yet, I helped make Power Point slides showing artist’s renderings. The idea was beyond crazy. The army kept lowering the weight so that the design could eventually be battery driven. The instruction was to strip out, as I recall, half the weight. I asked our structural guy what the result would be and he said, it might survive a few firings, but at some point the gun will tear itself apart. Fortunately, it got cancelled. It was later revived as the first Future Combat System’s vehicle, even though it had NOTHING in common with the FCS design. That’s how hard it is to kill a bad design. To the best of my knowledge, it died when that program failed.

In my experience, companies will not tell the customer that the customer’s concept will not work. That’s because sometimes the companies make a lot more money off failures than off successes. And, they don’t have to build anything that works. It’s all about the bonuses, baby.

“Consistent with the goals of the President’s Build Back Better jobs and economic recovery plan, of which his clean energy jobs plan is a central pillar, the order directs the federal agencies to procure carbon pollution-free electricity and clean, zero-emission vehicles to create good-paying, union jobs and stimulate clean energy industries.’

Ao what’s the plan for creating all those high paying jobs Joe. Coming in 3 o 4 years?

So Fedgov is switching from gasoline to coal-fired vehicles! Great news.

In the early 70s I worked at a “youth center” (read prison for juveniles). Occasionally we’d have a ‘run’ and the staff had to hop into state cars to try and catch them.

But this was when a car wouldn’t even start unless you had your seat-belt buckled and whatever passed for a computer then sometimes would sometimes get a bit confused. You’d jump in the car, fasten the belt and the car would tell you to buckle up. We’d have to switch off the key. Unbuckle, get out of the car, shut the door, get back in, buckle up, and hope you did everything in exactly the right order. Meanwhile the lad was headed into the woods.
