I think carriers and subs are already, technically, electric in that the nuke plant makes steam and turns turbines with power motors, but not sure about that.
Icebreakers, at least the ones I was on, had gas turbines going to reduction gears for multiyear ice, and diesel-electric motors for cruising and light ice.

They better start cranking up the fossil fuel coal fired generating plants to provide enough electricity to run this new fleet.
Because in reality, electric cars are coal powered cars.
