many thanks...it is strange as it is minimal in its attack yet still medically a stroke.
If this blood thinner will just hold up a day or so I will see if the neurologist will assist us in getting timely tests run on him. I don’t think I can take him to ER without him in the process of having a stroke.
Eye dr also hinted that new operators on testing can “miss” something.
for sure 911 all the way...we were broadsided totally.
If they find the source of the problem and fix it is it likely he will have another stroke ...he is only 58.
beautiful! Thank You!
number two...when faced with emerging serious symptoms, waiting for an appointment is IMO not wise....go to the ER....try to get him admitted....once admitted, he'll probably get to see a specialist quicker than awaiting an office appointment...
if they don't admit him, at least you saw a doctor quicker then waiting for the office.....
people should realize that even those “little” strokes, TIA’s, are a symptom of perhaps further problems....always get to the ER....
Ug, they are really good at treating this now. Don’t know where you are located but they should be able to figure out what is causing it so it can be mitigated.
Looks like they have just started the treatment, with a second episode he should be seeing lots of specialists to get this figured out if their initial treatment plan didn’t work.
opthalmologist is the last doctor he needs to see, he needs Internal Medicine and Cardiologist to start.
Houston...not sure how to move because he’s not ER butttt...he kinda is..
Don’t understand, Houston has fine doctors ... he is in a good place. Just need to get him to the right doctors.
When I had an health scare episode (not a stroke mind you), I had appointments I had to go to at least every 2-3 weeks over a 3 month period. Blood tests, ekgs, mri, urine tests, lots of paperwork, what do I eat etc.. then more blood tests to see how I was reacting over time from the medications.
Had a relative who was brought up for air during a carotid stint procedure and given 20 minutes to decide on full open heart triple bypass because of how little blood vessels had required how the heart pumped. Discovered by accident as the surgeon was getting going on the carotid. 80 years old
Went ahead with both surgeries. Lasted 12+ years more.
You dont know how things will turn out unless you get a tailwind somehow sometimes.
Prayers up
Id say the man has something to do still. Stroke or no, God is trying to tell him something.

I am glad your husband is doing better. Wonderful he has good doctors. He is in my thoughts and prayers.
Prayers for your husband and for you in coping.
As someone who has actually experienced a TIA stroke all I can say is: Get your husband to The nearest ER ASAP! A stroke kills brain cells in all cases.
Mine was due to a blood clot that was breaking up in my right carotid artery that caused damage to my entire left side. Since you say his left eye is affected, that is the most likely source of his problem.
Like him I didn’t know what was wrong, but my wife did. So, I’m alive to tell you to seek help. Contact Someone in an ambulance company to learn where THEY are supposed to take such patients. I live in the KS City Metro, and the University of KS Med Ctr is the Go to place here. Not a place I’d choose to go, but glad they took me there.
If you want more, ask. And all our prayers to you both.
I had one in 2016. In my case it was skin related on the left side of my body. It started on my left forearm, a numb feeling. Within a couple of hours it was the skin on the entire left side of my body. I could drag my finger along my arm and a second later there was this delayed sensation. It was kind of creepy. I drove myself to the hospital and I was in the hospital for a week.
I had problems the previous two months with not feeling well and had an artery scan at a Dayton hospital. I so believe in those test and for 99 dollars you can’t go wrong. Results, 5 problem spots with 2 being of concern. You don’t want to know what I think of DOCTORS that will poo-poo that test. Seems like every last one of them wants to put you on statins for exactly that problem though.
He has been to a cardiologist and the eye specialist who gave him stronger meds but we need better testing. Apparently they are not picking up on anything yet. So on Tues. morn he has an appointment with neurologist. My hope is to get moving on testing asap. Perhaps this guy can urge him to check into the hospital for testing.
Just need a 24 hr. stroke outpatient center with all the testing.
wow so glad you managed to discover the issue. The eye dr recommended a redo on the doppler carotid test and an MRA.
They give TPA for strokes
Tissue plasminogen activator
Serrapeptase might help as well
Natural blood thinners are gingko biloba and garlic, if he likes garlic
I had a stroke.....if you even think you are having one, get to the emergency room. They have clot busting drugs that can stop it in its tracks. I got lucky... Minor speech impediment, and I lost 1989 till about mid 1993.... those years are just gone... I also get ocular migraines... Those are scary.... The fact that none of the doctors told you to go to the hospital means that they are not very good doctors.. next time don’t hesitate, just go
