Top Republican Calls For Source of Trump’s Tax Documents to Be Investigated For Possible Felony Crime

Rep. Kevin Brady is calling for an investigation into the source behind the New York Times’ access to President Trump’s tax documents.

Brady (R-TX) is the head Republican on the House Ways and Means Committee.

He states there is a possibility that “a felony crime was committed by releasing the private tax return information” of the President.

“To ensure every American is protected against the illegal release of their tax returns for political reasons, I am calling for an investigation of the source and to prosecute if the law was broken,” Brady announced.

The New York Times report, released on Monday, accuses President Trump of having “paid $750” in federal income taxes in 2016 and 2017.

Their report does, however, note that Trump “made the required payment to the I.R.S. for income taxes he might owe — $1 million for 2016 and $4.2 million for 2017.”

Most of those payments were rolled forward for future tax payments.

Who works at the IRS? The IRS is a pretend-you-work-instead-of-welfare employer. Since there will be no prosecution, someone looked at his tax information and gave it to a hate-America marxist, and from there it got to the times.

This should be easy to investigate. The president’s tax filings are treated differently from all the rest. Special processing. Fewer people have access to it.

I would like to know if the NYT paid anything of value to get them. That could be a bribe.

The GOP appointed DOJs refusal to hold anyone on the left accountable for their undeniable crimes has done nothing but encourage and breed more blatant lawlessness. No fear of consequences because it is known that none are coming even if they are caught red handed.

Barr is a blowhard but if he will not enforce the law by prosecuting criminals no matter who they are then he is corrupt and should go. Step up, Barr, or you are no better than Christopher Wray.

absolutely prosecute the criminal.
(but he’s also very stupid to have released these tax returns if he wanted to hurt PDJT....he should have checked first to make sure there was anything wrong or illegal in them)
