I do not see the union of 50 states lasting much longer. I’ve lived my whole life in New England. For the good of the country, this region should be pushed out and forced to become an independent People’s Republic. I’ll move to America.

I tried that. Moved from New England to Virginia and it immediately turned blue, just my luck.
... OR New England should be ONE state with two senators instead of 12 ( or 14 if you count NY ).
But what if there is no “America” to move to?
So if New England becomes an independent country, what’s to stop other states or regions from seceding too, and creating more countries?
Could we see the states of the United States eventually all becoming independent countries? Could the United States dissolve into multiple nations, as did the old Soviet Union?
