A number of years ago, I mentored two young men in SoCal. Mother in jail, one father black, one father white, who were never involved in the boys upbringing. Grandma with health issues was caring for the boys. I volunteered to mentor both and a 3 year program became a 10 year program as we really bonded. They were and are great young men but it was not something that you could “fix” in an hour or a day. It took ten years of guidance that I learned from my immigrant father. Solutions will need to be worked one child at a time. Law and Order matter. Never give in to the anarchists!
Youre a great man sir for doing that I know what it takes to raise good children I have tyree Two are boys and they need constant mentoring
My daughters been a mess and I already had a boyfriend died of a drug overdose but my wife has healed her completely and now shes on the right track
Anybody can have sex and get pregnant only women can have babies and it takes a true person to be a parent
You are so right about solutions being one child at a time. I taught for a number of years, including in an inner city parochial high school. It is truly heartbreaking to see these young people age 15 or 16 reading at a first grade level. I was supposed to teach them science but they were in most cases functionally illiterate. Math was even worse. I did my best to teach them something useful, but most of my students would have needed several years of tutoring and remedial work to bring them up to a reasonable standard. Instead they were passed along and ultimately most went to college somewhere on scholarship where they either washed out or were socially promoted.
You are a wonderful person. Thank you!
