Went Woke, Going Broke – Starbucks Announces Advertising Pause…
Conservative Treehouse ^ | June 28, 2020 | Sundance

Posted on 06/28/2020 7:57:46 PM PDT by CheshireTheCat

After positioning their brand in 2015 as the leading indicator of woke credentialing; then reversing course in 2016 on the plan to force racial discussion with every purchase; Starbucks is now announcing a pause in all social media advertising because… well, they don’t want to contribute to hate-speech n’ stuff.

Pretty much everyone I know says Starbucks coffee tastes burnt - and I agree. I can’t imagine what they are doing in their processing...

* * *

Maybe Starbucks figured out long ago that the way to make their coffee addicting is to pour burnt and too strong coffee.

That’s a conjecture on my part, but it makes sense that a big company like Starbucks would research what type of coffee draws customers.

As for myself, I recently discovered a neat little Starbucks-Killer — a small battery-operated coffee frother that works well at creating a little foam topping on your coffee.

$6.99 on eBay.

I like Starbucks coffee — the strongest they have that day, and basic black with no fru-fru, cream or sugar. But I haven’t bought any in about 10 years when they began exposing their liberalness.

Little coffee has passed these lips since childhood (breakfast with grandparents; coffee w/lots of cream & sugar.
However, coffee ice cream does not count. :-)

Actually, I think the real motive of these companies is fear. They are certainly responsible for having created a climate where you can never be woke enough. But the standards of wokeness change on an hourly basis, so you never know when suddenly some previously innocuous thing will suddenly become a grave affront to humanity and result in social media vilification, campaigns against your company, loss of business and perhaps even the loss of the company.

Starbucks has been through such a campaign before, they’re seeing other companies get harassed for things such as product packaging and advertising, and I think they’re just afraid that the forces of wokeness on social media will suddenly turn on them for some unpredictable “sin.”

They did a lot to contribute to this situation. But it’s the usual problem with Frankenstein’s monster: they created it and now they’re afraid it’s going to turn on them. They’ve obviously decided it’s better for them to silence themselves than have somebody do it for them and destroy their company in the process.

I will acknowledge that I’m not a Starbucks fan. I bought one cup from them a dozen, or so years ago, and not a drop since. It was horrible tasting, and grossly over priced. In my world, that would make for few repeat customers. From what I’ve seen at airports, they’re still grossly overpriced, though I can’t vouch for their taste. I assume that it’s still bad. I drink several cups of coffee a day, and have for well over a half century, so I fancy myself as an experienced judge of coffee. What I have found is that most pot-brewed coffee is good, most single cup brewed coffee is bad.

Starbucks are marketing geniuses for becoming rich with their ploy, but only to fools. I believe there aren’t enough fools to make Starbucks profitable again selling racism.

The companies are, which will have an eventual economic impact on whites. What do you think might happen if it becomes socially acceptable to drive whites into poverty and destitution?

Starbucks is the place where they love to charge you $5 for a $1 cup of coffee. I am amazed at the number of people that love to take them up on their offer. McDonald’s has the best coffee for $1, and if you are a senior citizen it is even less.

Quit drinking that brand long ago (I won’t call them by their name). I buy local. That brand has saturated around my neighborhood, and no one goes there. Waiting for them to close up, so I can open a Conservative Open Carry Cafe. Gonna dream...dream big.

At the rate they are going, they really will wind up as they were in the movie “Idiocracy”.

"Idiocracy" started out as entertainment, became an instruction manual for the liberals and now is a documentary.

I love their Hibiscus drink. Picks me up during the day.

For coffee I go to my local Echo Park [Los Angeles} “MUG SHOT” for great coffee in an old converted gas station.

I used to love Starbucks. I mainly bought their bags of coffee beans to grind. My favorite was Verona. I liked strong, very black coffee. Their coffee was not "burnt" as many FReepers claim. They just roast the beans darker. Eventually, they stopped offering the Verona in decaf in the stores (I use both regular and decaf). Then my wife and I started using K-cups. For some reason, the Starbucks K-cups are very low on flavor. We found other brands we liked better and gave up on Starbucks.

The only time I drink a Starbucks cup of coffee is if I am out of town or at an airport. If I can find a Peet's I go there. Peet's Major Dickason's Blend is my favorite coffee. Every now and then, someone will give me a Starbuck's gift card. I pass them on to one of my employees in my department who likes iced milkshake type coffee.

Starbucks is ramping up its television advertising. I see ads for iced coffee and a brew in a can.

I'm sure television advertisement prices are low since so many have pulled back but I also suspect that Social Media has become so infiltrated with fake accounts, bots, and hostility that their marketers have found out it's not worth it.
