Conservative Treehouse ^ | June 28, 2020 | Sundance

Posted on 06/28/2020 7:57:46 PM PDT by CheshireTheCat

After positioning their brand in 2015 as the leading indicator of woke credentialing; then reversing course in 2016 on the plan to force racial discussion with every purchase; Starbucks is now announcing a pause in all social media advertising because… well, they don’t want to contribute to hate-speech n’ stuff.

This is an interesting development. I wonder what it is about.

I actually opened the article and then clicked to the full starbucks statement. That’s pretty much it.

The translation is basically anyone that thinks differently than leftists must be silent and eventually killed.

These companies will rue the day they they joined the “movement’

They will find out blm and antifa can and will never be happy until places like Starbucks and their imperialist, capitalist ways are burned to the ground.

Every last one.

As I understand it, Facebook is resisting the idea of censoring conservatives off the page, so all corporations are not buying advertising through them.

They are following Coca-Cola. Which has also already quit social media advertising.

2016 was about the last time I went to Starbucks. I bought an espresso machine instead.

They want you silenced. By definition that will end “hate speech”. Read Post 2. I believe dp has it exactly right.

I’m back to getting a cup of coffee at the local diner.

It works just as well.

Advertising on facebook is a risky proposition.

It opens your posted ad (in newsfeeds, not the banners on the side) to comment and derision from people who don’t normally interact with your brand.

They seem to have gotten far away from their “mission”....making/ serving great coffee drinks and food...NOT dealing with “hate speech”

They are contributing to public defecation. Where will the homeless deposit their needles?

Pretty much everyone I know says Starbucks coffee tastes burnt - and I agree.

I can’t imagine what they are doing in their processing to get everyone to agree so uniformly on a negative opinion.

Starbucks Inc. has decided that it is a good business model to let random strangers meet in franchisees’ storefronts and schedule hour long job interviews (babysitters/nannies, realtors, CIA, etc) without buying a single thing. Some will even meet different clients there in the same day.

And the shop owners, managers, and staff can’t say a thing.

It takes a while for the average consumer to realize just how alien a company has become to their values and beliefs. Think how long it took believing Catholics and Christians to desert the Democrat Party. People are beginning to understand that entities such as Starbucks, Pepsi, NBC News and most “news media”, Google, Twitter, government bureaucrats etc. do not share their values and in fact mock them in multiple ways. Would not call the resulting attitude a “backlash” but more an understanding of reality and behavioral adjustment that more resembles a very powerful undertow in ocean waters

That’s the stupidest thing I’ve heard in a while and these days that’s saying a lot.
