To say 2020 is a strange year would be putting it mildly. We already expect some oddness because it’s an election year and while politicians can screw up plenty, giving us some hilariously odd moments, but what we got was something very different. From talk of World War III we went to Australia being on fire, then on to COVID-19, and now riots. Somewhere in between were the murder hornets, too, because why the hell not? However, it also looks like 2020 might also be the year gun control died.

The store where I work has been selling 250+ guns a day since this started, increasing from the Chicom Cooties buying.
70-80% are first time buyers.
Dims know it and will be presenting all types of off the wall BS legislation to keep the narrative going, like amo restrictions, red flag laws you name it.
I have relatives that would never own a gun and are now heading to the store for advise and trng

Gun control for me has been dead for years.
Most Dem gun owners will continue to vote Democrat, IMO. They’re scum. Anyone still voting Democrat is scum.
For the life of me, I do not understand why guns are not handled the same as homosexual marriage. Find a state with a very relaxed attitude where “anything goes” and then demand that all other states have to follow that exact model. It’s just too complex legally to have 50 different sets of laws for marriage or gun ownership.
“Shall not be infringed” is pretty clear.

I picked up a new firearm this weekend. Place was packed with purchasers, folks on the range, folks in class. They had just received 20 rifles in on Friday. Sold them all in less than 24 hours. Ammo was flying off shelves too. I was trying to find bulk for the new toy, hard time finding so I’m getting 100 rnds as I can.
I’m not sure I agree with this. Liberals have very short memories.
I have a couple of marriage related family that I convinced of the importance of gun ownership and our right in that regard.
Two weeks after agreeing completely with me they go right back to no guns blah blah blah. One is a woman from New York who is Jewish, you would think all Jews would be pro-gun based on history. They also apparently have very short memories.
And keep in mind even if they’re temporarily convinced that guns are good idea they’re still going to go to the polls and vote for the Democrats that want to outlaw guns. So the end result is the same. These people are stupid and they’re not going to get smarter.

I consider that to be VERY good news.
The actual control is tired but the narrative and BS chatter is alive and well.
If Obama were still in power he would have issued an EO suspending NICS checks indefinitely, thus ending the current retail gun surge in an instant.
Unless full anarchy does descend in the next few months this is temporary.
Most of the newly purchased firearms will soon be locked up in a manner that makes them useless if needed.
The buyers will run out of motive to practice, many will decide they do not need a firearm after all, and sell them, or even turn them in to the police.
After each buying frenzy there is a major lull, many shops and some manufacturers will go broke during that lull.
Right now many shops are unable to make the sale unless the buyer has a CCW, as the NICS system is so overwhelmed.
This accomplishes what the anti’s desire, unless you already have a CCW “Permit” you are a second class citizen and will have difficulty legally obtaining a firearm at retail.
Thus we get the “Gun show loophole” fallacy.
If full anarchy does descend ALL “Gun Control” does end, along with limits on what we may obtain or build as needed. “Say hello to my little friend!”

Well that is up to gun rights groups and supporters to step up while the mood is right and start talking to these people now that they actually have a firearm, and to keep talking to them.
In considering the definition of a "militia" within the Second Amendment, I follow that of Founding Father George Mason:
“I ask you sir, who are the militia? They consist now of the whole people.” IOW, any citizen not affiliated with the government.
While in Monticello last year, I asked Thomas Jefferson's "interpreter" if he agreed with Mason's views on the 2nd Amendment. He wholeheartedly agreed with his "good friend, George Mason".
Throughout the country, there has been a sea change in attitudes regarding personal ownership of guns. For example, up until ten days ago, my wife was adamantly opposed to having a weapon in the house. Overnight, her attitude changed, and I purchased a 9 mm last week.
I can only imagine how many other households have gone through the same conversion.

I have a calendar reminder for about year out to go look for lightly-used bargains. That was made during the CCP Virus and Flu run, this new run just adds to it.
I’ve seen changes on the far Left regarding gun control...the thinking being that it is actually a plan to increase the policing power of the white supremacist state. (I’ll disarm when the police disarm” etc).
