New York and New Jersey Governors Cuomo and Murphy had the option of using the Trump provided USS Comfort to place convalescing COVID-19 patients. Instead they forced these patients into nursing homes with ill prepared, ill trained staff and vulnerable elderly patients. Many sickened and died. They also have made it nearly impossible for primary physicians to prescribe hydroxychloroquine, a drug that Trump mentioned, early in the disease when it does the most good.

The elderly mom of one guy in new jersey (this guy) has been a resident of long term care facilities in New Jersey for over 5 years now. She tested positive for COVID-19 in late April. But by all accounts, she has been asymptomatic throughout. Amazingly, she currently remains in good shape. No doubt she’s got a hella constitution. But note well: She’s also been supplementing for years with megadoses of vitamin D under her gerontologist doctor’s care. That must have provided her with a good foundation to stand up to the infection as strongly as she did.
When you move these patients into the nursing homes you are intentionally killing these precious vulnerable people.
