At one point the S.C. flag was shot down but Sgt. William Jasper climbed the wall and secured it back in place. This had a dramatic effect on morale; buckets of grog supplied to the troops helped morale, too.
The British were forced to withdraw but in 1780 returned and captured Charleston; during that year the war could have gone either way.
Easiest way to end this is Trump announcing a 6 month lockdown. Country would be opened by the weekend.
