Thousands of protesters on foot and in vehicles converged Wednesday on Michigan’s capital to rally against Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s stay-at-home orders in the state.
“Operation Gridlock,” organized by the Michigan Conservative Coalition, created a huge bumper-to-bumper traffic jam around the Michigan Capitol Building in Lansing, Fox 2 Detroit reported.
Meshawn Maddock, an organizer for the group, said the demonstrators include Republicans, Democrats, and independents.
It seems that Michigan’s authorities are not impressed with the ongoing protests as Michigan judge has issued an order authorizing a county health officer and police to arrest and jail anyone they suspect of being sick with the coronavirus.
The order has an unfilled blank for officers to write in names of those arrested said the Great Lakes Justice Center, which called the order unconstitutional.
As WND reported Judge Mark Trusock of the 17th Circuit Court issued the order in response to a request by Kent County Health Officer Adam London.
The judge ruled that any “carrier and health threat” presented with a copy of his order “may be involuntarily detained by a peace officer, transported to and detained in an Involuntary Isolation Facility selected by the Health Officer for observation, testing, and/or treatment.”
The judge further allows London to “instruct the Involuntary Isolation Facility to detain an individual until the CHT has been confirmed by a physician and the health officer to be without a fever of 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit for at least 72 consecutive hours (without use of fever reducing medication) and/or is otherwise non-symptomatic and meets the CDC criteria for release from isolation.”
The judge wrote that the “facility” where people are jailed and “all peace officers” can rely on a copy of his order to detain anyone “at the instruction of the health officer.”
“This order is unconstitutional, unlawful, and unenforceable. Any police officer or health official arresting or detaining a person under this illegal order is acting outside the scope of their legal authority and may face personal liability,” GLJC said.
“Operation Gridlock” was just one of many demonstrations planned across the country to push back on the stay-at-home orders, calling on state governments to focus on the economic toll the coronavirus pandemic has caused along with taking care of the sick.
Nearly 17 million Americans have been laid off or furloughed in the past three weeks – or one out of every 10 workers.

This is not unusual, if you have TB, not undergoing treatment and are a risk for transmission, public health officials and law enforcement may involuntary hold you until they decide you are a risk for transmission. This has been true for over a century.
North Carolina is a red state turning blue. Hopefully the voters are watching the heavy handed tactics of the Democrat governor the state elected in 2016. Protests occurred this week in NC and there was an arrest.

Well, it seems that the ruling class is moving toward the Black Death model from the mid-1300s. Are you sick, maybe sick, someone says you’re sick, then board them up in their houses and make sure they can’t get out to infect anyone. Only it didn’t work and this was bacterial (Yersinia Pestis) rather than viral. The pope had a huge fire built around him thinking that would protect him. The feudal lords fled to their country estates (much like Pelosi and company) and used armed guards, but that didn’t help either. The plague recurred numerous times over the centuries and is still among us.
Unlike the great plague which killed 1/3 to 1/2 of the world population, this is less than the flu in nature and will not go away. It will still be here and by hiding everyone behind closed doors, the pool of those vulnerable is expanded and at some point they will contract it as well. Uncalled for panic, generated by experts who have not been right yet with any of their predictions resulting in the collapse of our economy and way of life; there is the real killer virus.

You need to re-read the article. You don’t have to have COVID-19 — they need only “suspect” you of having it. This is straight-up banana republic territory.

You may be kidding. They are not. They consider refusing to obey their orders as a capitol offense. Also, the more insane the order, the more vigorously it must be enforced.
It is only a matter of time until somebody gets shot over this sort of thing.
So they are opening jails to let criminals out, and they are going to jail SUSPECTED coronavirus patients...?

The only point of drawing down under the circumstances would be to take them all with you when you go. Otherwise, just shut up and get in the van.
