Ever since a senior official in the Trump administration penned an anonymous 2018 New York Times column attacking President Trump as unfit for office, Washington has been engrossed in a high-stakes whodunit. After an exhaustive investigation, the White House believes its cracked the case, identifying Trump's turncoat as his former deputy national security adviser, Victoria Coates, according to people familiar with the internal probe.
Rather than fire Coates, the White House has quietly transferred her to the Department of Energy, where she awaits special assignment in Saudi Arabia -- far from the president.
Trump effectively demoted Coates just four months after promoting her last fall to the No. 2 spot on his National Security Council. The move was made amid a whisper campaign, started in January, that identified Coates as Anonymous, the person who wrote the Times Op-Ed and a subsequent book, A Warning, claiming to be part of a cabal of fellow Republicans" resisting Trump and his policies from inside the administration.
The Washington press corps has for the most part been uninterested in learning the authors identity. But the sources said the identification of Coates was based on circumstantial evidence generated from a months-long White House investigation led by sleuths within the NSC. Top White House adviser Peter Navarro, who works with the NSC on trade and other issues, also was heavily involved in the probe of Coates.
She declined to discuss the matter on the record with RealClearInvestigations and has retained an attorney, friends say, although several colleagues have rushed to her defense, insisting the White House has the wrong person. But a source involved in the NSC probe who asked not to be identified said there was little doubt. Its her, the source said of Coates. Thats why she was shown the door.

The gal could still make mischiefs in SA.
More fitting reassignment for her, if it were up to me.
Related to Dan Coates?
Or special envoy to Wuhan.
I hear the US base in the North Pole is great this time of the year, for traitors, snakes, and skunks.
special assignment in Saudi Arabia
LOL...Love it!
If Trump knows that it is Coates I am surprised he has managed to avoid talking about it.

Send the bitch to Diego Garcia.

Because every sensible superpower appoints an Art Historian to run their global geo-political military policy.
Insane.
She deserves a Georgi Markov style fate.
Navarro is a national treasure.
And personnel continues to be Trump’s main weakness.
That was the image I was searching for. For a whole 10 min, but couldn’t find it.
Thanks. Now I’m saving this.
Special Envoy to the Central African Republic would be an excellent assignment for her.
In the middle of the article there is a link that is supposed to go to the “Anonymous” NYT op-ed.
But the test of the link is “c:UserstomkuntzDownloadswith the hedline”
So even though Tom Kuntz’s name is not on the article he must have been involved

Exactly Stripes Part Deux
It sure is hard to fire civil servants.
If you can’t fire her (why not?), then just create a new position in the DOE Saudi Arabia location with a salary of $250 per month. Her title would be special assistant to the administrative assistant to the paper clip inventory manager.
From No. 2 spot on National Security Council to reassignment at DoE (energy), that tells me diddly-squat about her specialty.
