When it is time to come together and rethink the way we do things, these dimwits are up to their old schtick.

Hey, first the virus is apolitical and ambivalent to race. It goes after human hosts of any race, color, creed.

Second, there is a possible scientific rationale for it. For example, POC are more susceptible to certain forms of anemia. Now maybe I’d suspect that would make those folks with anemia slightly more immune, but I am not anything close to an expert.

More pressingly, the disease seems - at least anecdotally - to severely impact people with diabetes and high blood sugar. Some of that is genetic, and some of that is dietary. It also seems to skip over some people with certain disease states, maybe because of the meds they take or maybe because their blood pH levels make them inhospitable habitat for the virus.

If in fact the disease is harming POC disproportionate, I’d look to a scientific rationale other than jump immediately to “racism!”. But none of that makes for compelling television news.

There was some talk, seems like years ago, that black people were relatively immune from the Wuhan, China virus. That and a common idea that defying what “the man” says is being authentic may have contributed to a higher rate, although to be honest, I’ve seen no racial breakdowns of infections/deaths.

Of course anyone living in very close quarters in a large city is much more likely to contract a contagious disease that someone who lives out in the middle of nowhere.
