That’s when the commies (”proggressives”) began infiltrating the public schools.

“Was that right across the U.S.?”

My apologies, I should have put an /s tag on that post.

It was intended to highlight the difference between all the brave Americans in the 1940s who couldn’t wait to risk their lives for their country and so many of our countrymen today who don’t want to take any risks and can’t wait for their government check.

Johnson more liberal than Clinton who is more liberal than Obama?

It's hard to make these comparisons across time. Too much changes from age to age. Johnson's era was still the age of big government. Liberal plans and projects were less ambitious in the Clinton years. So in a sense, one could say - and many people have - that Johnson (or even Nixon) was the most liberal president. Also, Johnson had a Democratic majority in Congress throughout his administration - a very large one after he was reelected - so he was able to fulfill more of the liberal agenda of his day than Clinton or Obama.

The "Greatest Generation" lived in an age when big government was accepted and people had much faith and great hopes when it came to government action. Later on, people were more skeptical. Those of us who came along later might not have been so different from the WWII generation, if we'd had their experiences.

past generations would not shut down the country..

seems they have Trump in a spot.. save lives, and he does want that above all.. and risk losing the economy battle..and more trouble than imagined.

i have a feeling we all are being played.. its for sure the left doesnt care about anything but power.. Trump cares for both people and the country.

These “discussions” are carried out by many people that haven’t done shite for their country, shooting off their mouths against for instance “boomers.”

We grew up with grandparents and parents that experienced the depression and WWII.

I my case, my grandfather servved in WWI.

My wife and I had fathers that were injuredd in WWII combat.

As boomers many of us served in Vitnam, or the Cold War, or both.

The majority after that have experienced very little advversity and made very little sacrifice to the nation.

Many are respectful, but this “boomer” this, boomer that is pretty much nonsense.

Both Trump and Boris Johnson intially tried to resist the pressure for the strong reactions that response is now almost universal in The West. But not in Japan and South Korea from what I have seen.

Slowing down the flooding of the health care systems is good.

Saving lives is good if the longer term costs arent worse.

If a vaccine or other treatment emerges soon the economic pain might be worth it.

But if the delay to herd immunity allows a more virulent strain to the out more lives?

I dont speak as an epidemiological expert but I do speak ........ I fear for that freedom and I fear that this draconian police state way of governing will become its own creature that seeks its own existence ......

I dont advocate civil disobedience with respect to current restrictions just questioning .......
