I did updates on the 2014 ebola outbreak on the thread linked below. Reality turned out to be way different than projections. The updates are the last posts on the thread. Reality was far different than projections and hysteria.
Will be interesting to see how coronavirus turns out.

Guess the blame Trump panic rats will be filled with the sads.
Again.
Im sorry I dont have time to critically analyze this argument. I must go to Cosco and fist-fight for the last available water bottle.
The real worry is that, be it influenza or coronavirus, it will behave like the Spanish flu. Its first wave was relatively mild, an ordinary winter flu season. Then there was a pause. The second wave was horrific.
Right now, to make each season’s flu vaccine, there is a worldwide review of which of thousands of flu variants currently active around the world, as to probability, current location, infectability and severity, narrowing down to just 3 to 5 strains for the vaccine. There are many “near misses” for the exact strain, but they will often confer partial immunity.
Leading up to December 31st, and A strains dominate, but with the New Year, the B strains become dominant. Animal vectors, typically chicken and pig, also matter a lot.
The vast majority of millions of deaths from the so-called Spanish Flu resulted from pneumonia. They died because antibiotics were not yet invented.
Well that, and the massive overuse and over dosing with the new miracle drug, Aspirin.
As a blood thinner it heavily contributed to blood leaking into the lungs...
Democrats were devastated over this good news.
Moral of the story? You can still use napkins to wipe your derriere because those were still in stock.
Currently, most of our antibiotics come from China.
CNN: Trump causing doctors to curtail hours thereby losing money for flu shots and other flu-like stuff.
Or do what humans have done for 200,000 years and probably more than half the planet still does. Use your hand.
Before that though? Psycho shower. Just shower immediately afterward.
I’ll use your hand before I use my own.

....
With all due respect, you do not know this! I think this type of conjecture is dangerous! If what you say is true, why hasn’t this been the case with influenza A & B?
You almost seem disappointed that the COVID-19 deaths are decreasing! This Coronavirus thing seems to have pushed some of you folks over the edge...and no, I’m not trying to be funny!
Forget water; what's up with the run on Charmin toilet paper? Almost none left at my local Safeway.
It’s just the next whataboutism to run to to keep the frenzy going.
“You almost seem disappointed that the COVID-19 deaths are decreasing! “
The one good thing about FR being down all day was it deprived them of a platform for their daily bloodlust. Some of them may actually had to go outside.
I went to shopping today and this was the first time I could see people really preparing for the corona virus. Toilet paper was 80% empty, a whole big section of an aisle in the cleaning section was empty. The soups were about 50% empty. Walmart employees are using rubber gloves now.
Today on Fox News Sunday, I heard DR.Fauci from the Nat. Inst. Health, advise senior citizens with underlying health problems not to go on Cruise ships. (Hey, that means me!) - Tom
