Dr. Karlyn Borysenko is a longtime Democrat.
She recently attended a Trump rally and found out it was like nothing she had heard from the media or her liberal friends.
Not only were Trump supporters incredibly friendly to her, but she was also completely shocked by the positive energy and size of the crowd.
Now she is issuing a warning to members of her party.
She writes at Medium:
After Attending a Trump Rally, I Realized Democrats Are Not Ready For 2020
I think those of us on the left need to take a long look in the mirror and have an honest conversation about what’s going on.
If you had told me three years ago that I would ever attend a Donald Trump rally, I would have laughed and assured you that was never going to happen. Heck, if you had told me I would do it three months ago, I probably would have done the same thing…
So, I headed over an hour and a half before the doors were scheduled to open—which was four hours before Trump was set to take the stage—and the line already stretched a mile away from the entrance to the arena.
As I waited, I chatted with the folks around me. And contrary to all the fears expressed, they were so nice. I was not harassed or intimidated, and I was never in fear of my safety even for a moment. These were average, everyday people. They were veterans, schoolteachers, and small business owners who had come from all over the place for the thrill of attending this rally.
They were upbeat and excited. In chatting, I even let it slip that I was a Democrat. The reaction: “Good for you! Welcome!”…
As I left the rally—walking past thousands of people who were watching it on a giant monitor outside the arena because they couldn’t get in—I knew there was no way Trump would lose in November.
The best part comes at the end:
I think the Democrats have an ass-kicking coming to them in November, and I think most of them will be utterly shocked when it happens because they’re existing in an echo chamber that is not reflective of the broader reality.

Today, I voted in the New Hampshire Democratic Primary for Pete Buttigieg. I genuinely feel that Pete would be great for this country, and maybe he’ll have his opportunity in the future. But tomorrow, I’ll be changing my voter registration from Democrat to Independent and walking away from the party I’ve spent the past 20 years in to sit in the middle for a while.
Conservative politicians think their constituents are SMART so they don’t have to REPEAT anything....

I’ve been saying this for a long long time.. .the Democrats are setting themselves up for a 1972 election dynamic, with a 1984 economy at the incumbents back... they cannot win, it will not be close... Short of a complete economic collapse or some other black swan event of that magnitude.
Furthermore, the powers that be IMHO are intentionally throwing the 2020 cycle, they are doing everything they can to ensure they get a radical nominee and that that nominee gets crushed... the reason being to rope a dope them and cut them off at the knees so the party can moderate for 2024 when they will be the historical odds on favorite to win.
THis was what the impeachment was all about IMHO.. taking out BIDEN not Trump, ensure a radical nominee and that they get slaughtered... I believe Pelosi’s staged temper tantrum was part and parcel of this strategy as well.
Still, we should not let articles like this lull us into being lax. VOTE!

It’s hard for me to believe that the Democrats have a long range strategy. They overplay their hand so much that it defies strategy. And, I think the leftward lurch of the party has got the old guard pretty rattled. They are finding themselves between a rock and a hard place. But it’s a mess they created with identity politics and massive handouts. Just as it was predicted, they have run out of other people’s money.

Honestly... Tell me, if you were a democrat, and someone told you lay out a strategy to knee cap the left wing of the party, what would you be doing differently?

Remember, Pelosi was anti impeachment until Ukraine came up, then suddenly a full 180... why? Because Ukraine taints Biden and takes out the “moderate”... not Trump. Again, how many times did the house managers mention Biden and Burisma? Vs how many times the Trump lawyers did? They repeated that hundreds of times during the trial... why?? To hurt BIDEN..... Before the impeachment 99% of the public would not have known who Hunter Biden was, let alone that he was getting paid millions by some Ukrainian Oligarch.
The entire impeachment was internal democrat party politics played out in public and sold as getting Trump... but it was NEVER about that... just like Pelosi’s stage tantrum was about angering even more of the middle to ensure whoever gets the D nominee loses...
The dems are rope a doping the far left wing of their party... .so they can knee cap them and moderate next cycle.
