Today, a month after they were passed out of the House, Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) signed articles of impeachment against President Trump.
The articles aren't being officially received by the Senate until tomorrow, but that didn't stop House Democrats from squeezing as many photo ops out of the occasion as possible.
Many in the media could hardly contain their good fortune to have a "front-row seat to history," as CNN's Wolf Blitzer put it.
As Pelosi signed the articles using a series of pens, so she could distribute them as keepsakes MSNBC's Chris Matthews commented on her saying Trump is now "impeached forever."
"Theres a sacramental statement for life," Matthews offered. "Like a priest for life. Its a perfect statement of what she is. I think she is very reverential."
His colleague, Garrett Haake, said he felt this was almost a religious moment: "Im so glad Chris [Matthews] used the word 'ritual' because thats the word that has been stuck in my head about this all day today. It's beyond formality. There is something almost religious to it and I do think thats going to stick in the heads of these senators who have been watching it on TV up until this point. I cannot emphasize that enough."

The US media really need to take up comedy. They’d be great at it. They have missed their calling.
Liberal news media are living in the past - a time when most people believed their little charades and narratives. Perhaps some of them realize how ridiculous they look but are too afraid of losing their jobs to step out of the make-believe world.
“As Pelosi signed the articles using a series of pens, so she could distribute them as keepsakes MSNBC’s Chris Matthews commented on her saying Trump is now “impeached forever.””
Pelousy is now marked as one of the phoniest and crookedest Speakers forever. She has not one legislative achievement to show for the last congressional session; the whole session was marked by obstruction, lies, and perpetration of hoaxes.
She will be a byword forever as a failure and a phony.
politics is their religion? this impeachment of trump is the idol their minds feel a sense of worship toward?
Interesting they speak on national tv of the state of their warped minds and logic.
it is a big deal to impeach a president, but when it’s based on the flimsy stuff dems pulled together this is not some reverent thing it’s a crime against the constitution the dems are doing! not some ritual, sacred, to be honored thing.
satan has had a field day with these commentators, most of the media, many USofA leaders and citizens.
I was thinking Harlequins or Spanish Novellas. Overwrought with drama and appealing to the basest emotions. Old Nancy and, "tingles" would not know a religious moment if the skies opened and trumpets heralded. It's a Hollywood script of the lowest order. Spit!
The best thing we can do to stick it to these scumbags is to reelect president Trump and give republicans control of the house and senate. We can kick the lowlifes in the face and really make America great again. I tell everyone I talk to they can kiss their 401K goodbye if the socialist democrats win the election. They will also lose their freedom of speech and right to own guns.
Clickbait?
Ritual - a solemn ceremony consisting of a series of actions performed according to a prescribed order.
Doesn’t make any difference if the ceremony has purpose, truth, or need to most. It’s just a followed ceremony. It’s a show.

Spoiler alert. This is all that was left.

Over on CNN, the hosts were regularly reminding viewers they were watching “history unfold.”
“This is history,” Wolf Blitzer said, as he so often does. “This is history unfolding here.”
Hosts were so enamored with the moment, Chuck Todd even imagined the day statues would be erected for the politicians currently orchestrating the PR parade.

Worthy of a barf alert. These ‘tards are prancing around sniffing each other’s butts and absolutely oblivious to what’s coming next...
