No, but its probably at least a couple of million. Real money to a teenager. Real money to anyone Id say.
Definitely, real money to me. I hope his parents have clear heads and can advise him well.

Actually, after all the defamation suits are complete ...
I've been floating the idea of Mr. Sandmann PURCHASING the backstabbing Diocese of Covington itself .... :)

The apology is usually made by adding more zeroes to a check. If there is no apology by CNN, or any statement from the families or the lawyers of the family regarding the settlement, then... it really is about the money.
And that makes the families come across as more motivated by money, principle not so much.

That’s not how the legal game works. The family doesn’t get to choose if an apology is agreeable.
It doesn’t work that way. Civil action results in one side or another winning and in most cases the only transaction is financial.

Either party can reject a settlement based on the terms (well, unless an insurance company, etc of a party is brought into the mix).
The family weighed the settlement offer and agreed to the terms. No one compelled them to accept.
If the family believes that the fact there was a settlement is a sufficient statement, fine. I don’t, given they went on TV, and blitzed media about what happened (and I do think CNN was liable in this matter).

You can have whatever feelings you want.
CNN isn’t making any apology. They’ll shell out millions in lieu of one.
Figure it out.
