Today’s Campaign Update (Because The Campaign Never Ends)
Goodbye, Sheppie, we hardly knew ye. – Here is the only truly appropriate reaction to the news that the slimy Shep Smith has left Fox News:

In all seriousness, does anyone really care that our TV screens will no longer be graced by this shrill, overwrought hack? In recent years, Smith’s only role at Fox News was to come on air and cause half the cable channel’s regular viewers to tune into OANN. The channel attempted to elevate his role a few years ago by making him the “anchor” for all breaking news stories, but that seemed to last about 6 months before the role mysteriously disappeared.
The truth is that the clown has carried on an uninterrupted 5-year audition for a job at CNN or MSNBC, using Fox’s airwaves as his platform. Once his non-compete agreement with Fox has run its course – the time frame is not clear from published reports on the matter – we can expect him to come out with a highly-emotional book whose drama queen prose will resemble his frequent on-air rants, followed by the announcement of his new job “anchoring” some talking head show on one of those Democrat Party propaganda channels.
He’d fit right in with CNN’s prime-time lineup, joining Fredo, Cooper Anderson and that other guy in haranguing travelers across the nation’s airport lobbies with their leftwing nonsense. It’s his destiny, in fact.
Speaking of Fox News, the New York Post puts the lie to that ridiculous impeachment poll that cable channel spent the last several days pushing. That poll, conducted by Braun Research, claimed to have found that fully 51% of the public now favors “impeachment and removal” of President Donald Trump. But, as the Post points out, that’s mainly an artifact of an absurdly-biased polling sample:
Princeton, New Jersey, pollster Braun Research, which conducted the survey, noted 48% of its respondents were Democrats. But the actual breakdown of party-affiliation is 31% Democrat, 29% Republican and 38% independent, according to Gallup.
A poll weighted for party affiliation would have concluded that 44.9% favored impeachment and 44.4% opposed it, a Post analysis has concluded.

Thus, the President was correct about the Fox poll and Fox News in general when he responded to it on Twitter:

It’s going to be hard for me to “miss him” seeing that I never watched his show in the first place.
The day Donald Trump declared his candidacy, Shemp called him a “carnival huckster”. I saw it. Good riddance to the simpering sissy.
I’m gonna miss those eyes. He had such a way with the Maybelline products.
Same for me. Now if Cavuto, Wallace and a few others would join Shep, ratings would improve.
I loved hearing about his man-screaming even though I never saw him.
I’m looking forward to not missing him.

There was a post here a few days ago that Shemp was accused of assaulting someone 6 month or so ago, yet he still got to keep his job! It must’ve been another guy cuz if it had been a woman, Shemp woulda been tossed, pronto!

Shemp’s sordid history:
2000 — Shemp was arrested for aggravated assault with a motor vehicle on a female freelance journalist in Florida at the height of the Bush v. Gore vote recount. The victim was attempting to save a parking spot for her friend; Shemp cursed at and rammed into the woman, bruising her knees & legs and sending her slamming on the top of his vehicle. Strangely, charges were dropped. Fox News made no mention of the incident, and Shemp was not disciplined.
2015 — Shemp comes out on the Ellen show as homosexual. It is revealed that his then and current male sex partner met in 2004 when the partner worked on Shemp’s staff (pun intended). At the time, Shemp was 40, his sex partner was 16. No claim or outcry of statutory rap, or again, no comment or action by Fox News.
2019 — A man comes forward to allege that Shemp sexually assaulted him in 2004. The victim was passed out on Shemp’s couch when Shemp, attired only in a bathrobe or towel, mounted the unconscious man and forced his tongue into the victim’s mouth. The man awakened, pushed off his attacker, and yelled at him. Shemp attempted to assault the man a second time, but once again was repulsed. The victim made his way to the door to leave, and for a third time, Shemp assaulted him. No charges filed, nothing done by Fox News; unlikely either law enforcement or Fox News had contemporaneous knowledge of the attack.
Yes, that’s right, good riddance to bad rubbish. Shemp can, and assuredly will, take his narcissistic sex pervert antics to CNN or MSNBC.
Plus 17 for the Dems in the poll. No wonder they inched by. Why not make it 100% Dem. look what happened to Hillary.
