You may remember this video, which I have posted before. It shows an anti-Trump protest near UC San Diego that took place at 1:30 a.m. a few days after Trump was elected President. One of the protestors, a UC San Diego student named Maria Ana Carrola Flores, gets hit by a car:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1GtM-debHD8
Maria Ana Carrola Flores chose to stand in the middle of a busy highway at 1:30 a.m.
And after she got hit by a car, she actually sued the driver who hit her.
She also sued the city and county of San Diego, UC San Diego, and the UC Board of Regents.
The Washington Free Beacon explained the reason for her lawsuit with the following: (the bolding is mine)
Flores’s attorney, Jerold Sullivan, argued that while his client accepted her responsibility for the accident, others shared blame as well. Sullivan claimed that according to Flores, campus officials had encouraged the protest, did not control it, and failed to warn students of the danger of walking onto the freeway.
So she sued her college because it didn’t teach her that it was dangerous to stand in the middle of a busy highway at 1:30 a.m.
That’s insane.
Fortunately, a judge dismissed her lawsuit.
And besides, since she did insist on filing a lawsuit because someone didn’t teach her that standing in the middle of a busy highway at 1:30 a.m. was dangerous, then she should have filed the lawsuit against her parents, not her college.
Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
There needs to be HEAVIER repercussions for suing over nonsense.
When someone talks about making a more stupid idiot they are talking about her.
didnt teach her that standing in the middle of a busy highway at 1:30 a.m. was dangerous
= = =
Maybe she was basing her actions on that yellow diamond sign, with a fleeing family, running, on it.
I am sorry, but the lawyer to is representing this ignorant woman should be disbarred. What the H-— do they teach in law school? the woman should be in an asylum for retarded individuals.
If she was a Turkey, she’s one of those who would drown looking up in the sky to see what was falling down.
I think the college should respond: “She’s absolutely right that we don’t teach that ... we assume that our students learn it in kindergarten.”
You just cant make this stuff up!
Dang it... Not an illegal. John Edmund House.
For whomever asked about the sleezebag that represented her it is Jerold Sulivan

Seems like you would’ve learned that from mum & dad or picked it up in grade school somewhere.
If I had been the judge...
* I’d have dismissed the case w/ prejudice on the grounds it was wholly w/o merit and frivolous.
* Fined the plaintiff’s attorney for abuse of process.
* Ordered the plaintiff’s attorney to pay the legal expenses of the defendants.
* Referred the plaintiff’s attorney to the state bar association for possible sanctions on the basis of legal malpractice.
Sounds like George Costanza when being fired for having sex with the cleaning lady on his desk. “Was that wrong? Should I have not done that? Hey, if somebody had told me specifically that having sex with the cleaning lady at work was wrong, I certainly would not have done it!!”
Reminds me of the idiot that got crushed by the bulldozer in Israel a few years ago.
Years ago during major holiday weekends the networks would have something similar to telethons keeping track of the highway death toll on a big tote board and how it compared to previous holidays and which years were the worst, etc.
Mad Magazine did a takeoff on such shows featuring a big tote board and urging motorists to stay on the road because “we are 25 fatalities behind last year and we have to get those numbers up!!”
The kicker line that I remember was “Now kids, you can help too. Go for a long ride on your bicycles. Wear dark clothing and ride tonight. You’ll be harder to see and easier to hit!”
This student must have been a student of old issues of Mad.
