U.S.A. –-(Ammoland.com)- On August 12, 2019, at about 9:52 p.m., in Omaha, Nebraska, an apartment resident named Mark had some friends visiting him. He heard persistent knocking at the door. It got louder, so he looked out the peephole. Outside, he saw an unknown man at the door with another behind him who had a mask on.
He locked the door and went to get his rifle, a Ruger AR 556 (AR-15 clone). In the video, just as he returns, the door is kicked in with a rear spear type kick. As the home invader turns around, he sees the rifle pointed at him, and flees, all in less than two seconds, according to the camera clock.

It’s unfortunate that Mark held fire. He was well within his rights to waste the kicker, who will now go on to kick in someone else’s door, perhaps to rape and kill them.
How difficult could this have been to stage with a couple of employees? No shots fired. No police called after the fact to report the incident. No nothing. The video surveillance of the front door just makes it that much easier. Consider the source. Nice neat “infomercial” to drive up AR-15 sales and clicks.
Agreed, and he was well within his right to in Nebraska.
Nebraska's Castle Doctrine
Nebraska's castle law states that any force used must be deemed necessary by the person protecting themselves. Deadly force can be used but only if the person believes that it is necessary to avoid rape, serious injury, kidnapping, or death. There is a duty to retreat when the person is not at their home or place of work.

They guy with the AR15 forgot to load his weapon. You can hear he dry fired the weapon.
A shotgun would likely have produced the same result.
Being a big scary gun is all it took. He had no ammo loaded.
He did call the police. The media didn’t report it.

In the description under the video:

It didn’t matter in that case whether or not the rifle was loaded, because apparently, the robber believed it could have been loaded. It might matter in another incident, though. Some robbers, if armed, especially in cases with multiple invaders, will simply fire at the victim.
