...attorney Martin Murphy asked Judge Indira Talwani make the recommendation so the desperate inmate could see her family.

WTH? She's only going to be there two weeks! How often does she have to see her family? I haven't seen one of my kids who lives 10 miles away on the other side of town in two or three weeks - that's just the norm. My other child lives on the coast, we haven't seen each other face to face in 6 months. My in-laws half way across country I haven't seen in over a year. My wife - hey I go on business trips for a week and it's no big deal. I used to travel 3 out of 4 weeks - for months at a time.

Seriously. It's prison. It's supposed to be a hardship. It's supposed to be unpleasant. That way it is a deterrent. Sounds like they want to make this just a minor inconvenience - like having to meet at a remote coffee shop with bad service. Sheesh. Send her as far away as possible, no visitation, to the worst joint we have.

Why don’t we see stories like this about the university officials who encouraged the bribes?

It is just as illegal to solicit or receive a bribe as it is to bribe.

For a 14 day sentence. It’s such a nothing burger it would be more interesting to talk about her future actressing prospects.

It’s criminal fraud. It’s time the ruling class got the same penalties us peons would get if we pulled $hit like this (and same goes for the Kennedy family horror).

Just think if you had done that for one of your kids. You wouldn’t be doing a nothingburger stint at Camp Cupcake.

Meanwhile the presidents of these colleges are free to accept millions in bribes and stay out of prison.
