I quit smoking nine years ago with nicotine vaping devices. They were in the Commodore 64 stage at that point.

I quit 4 years ago after smoking 2 packs+ a day for 50 years.
I had a stroke and spent 3 weeks in the Hospital and rehab. That was enough time to reduce the craving to make it possible to quit.
I still reach for my front shirt pocket sometimes though.

I quit smoking after a lot of years of it, when I could feel the impact of the combination of aging and the effect of cigarettes. Decided to help my body last as long as possible.
