I told a story here the other day. About 10 years ago a nesting pair of bald eagles moved into the area around our local lake. They have bred and produced successive generations. About two weeks ago an adolescent eagle was found injured near the lake and subsequently died. Everyone is running around with their hair on fire trying to figure out how the eagle came to be injured. Seriously it’s a big thing. None of these geniuses looked over their shoulder at the giant wind farm that went up two years ago. really it’s a mystery how this happened.
On top of that the wind farm was permitted on a “pristine ridgeline” despite a 50 year moratorium on ridgeline development. Additionally the development took place in the largest upland Beech stand in New England. For those unaware a Beech stand is basically one living thing like western poplar. The forage for wildlife a stand like this produces would boggle you mind. But because this is the left’s religion all the environmental protections were suspended.
I can’t even relate to you what this means and my anger at the left for suspending regulations for their pet while grinding the rest of us to dust to get permits.
Now they are building two new big photovoltaic farms in my town. We get maybe 9 hrs of daylight in winter months, last winter we went 7 solid weeks with no break in the overcast. It’s totally asinine

The millions and millions of solar panels that are out there are all crystalline silicon doped with aluminum and boron ( minuscule amounts ) with very rare exception

In northern climes out of the same degree of sunlight on the panel as well as the daylight cycle as you go north the usability goes down for much of the year and only works effectively part of the year. As a component of a predictable grid component and cycle times to maintain available power versus demand they are not something to count on. Look at the rolling brownouts/blackouts in Calif, that are evidence that while additive and supplemental they will never be the primary component of a resilient grid structure. And the same goes for Wind power, I have been past the wind farms in the Palm Springs area many times and it is not as if they are all churning and burning, and neither are they in Tehachapi of elsewhere.
Last, the Enviro Nutz in Europe are finding out the hard way that solar panels are a part of but never a replacement for predictable and stable power. And I am not all that impressed by the Berzerkly degree, it used to be a good school but when you start telling everyone that because you graduated from there we all show bow and scrape I laugh

Several months ago AOC, in issue #69 of her weekly Green Bullshit News Letter, assured everyone that the waste from producing solar panels is eaten by Unicorns who digest it and produce Unicorn Pharts which provide additional energy.
Doing some quick research tells me you are way wrong. I'm seeing way way too many sources from both left leaning and right leaning sources saying these things contain significant quantities of heavy metals such as lead and cadmium and other toxic materials that are very difficult and expensive to recycle.
If you were correct I would be seeing the fact that modern solar panels contain only safe non toxic materials like silicone and aluminum. I'm not seeing anything of the kind. You are the only one making this claim and at this point I think you have no idea what you are talking about.
Please post some factual evidence that modern solar panels do not contain dangerous toxins and are not a disposal problem? Let's see it.
