Why isn’t the UN bothering Japan or S. Korea or a number of other countries that have almost ZERO diversity?

Diversity is good at a buffet.

In countries, not so much.

Diversity and discrimination are very interesting subjects. The world seems to want more of one and none of the other. In my mind the world doesn’t know what’s good for it. We need far less diversity and a whole lot more discrimination, and I’m not talking about the kind most leftists are interested in but the kind exercised by thoughtful folks concerned about certain conditions in this world that would never be discussed in polite society nor tolerated for that matter were the true meaning of discrimination not bastardized and forbidden by the all knowing left.

“Diversity is good at a buffet.

In countries, not so much.”

That is true, but why is it true? Answering that question will tell you what’s wrong with the “diversity is our strength” bumper sticker.

Diversity is also good in availability of car colors, sizes, types etc.

The reason for that is because people don’t agree on what color or size is best. There is no best color or size. People’s choice depends on their needs or wants.

But is diversity good in, say, choosing a doctor? No. Any sane person would want the BEST doctor, they couldn’t care less about his height, hair color or skin color.

So diversity is good when the thing in question has no objective quality. It cannot be ranked from worst to best, such as car color. Diversity is bad when the thing in question CAN objectively ranked from worst to best, such as doctors, or mechanics, or teachers.

So the general rule is that diversity is good for those things that cannot be objectively ranked on quality. It is bad for things that can objectively be ranked on quality.

Wow that was ####ing good.

Too bad some of the people here don’t articulate for us in congress instead of the dumb, traitorous ####s we have.

Just not me :)

Never thought of it this way.

So for simplicity sake it appears that when diversity refers to the inanimate, it is good, but humans don’t fit the narrative. I have a t-shirt with numerous pistols depicted on it and the statement “Celebrate Diversity”.

Not smart enough to look at the potential outside of the simplistic so an appeal to those forward thinking individuals who can see the fallacies in the simplistic approach if any.

“So for simplicity sake it appears that when diversity refers to the inanimate, it is good, but humans don’t fit the narrative.”

Not necessarily. For example, when it comes to a car, people don’t consider diverse level of reliability to be a strength. They want the most reliable car.

And there is diversity in people that is desirable. For example looks - as they say beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Some like blondes, some like brunettes, some redheads. Same with talent - it’s great to have people with different talents and skills.

The bottom line in deciding whether diversity in a particular attribute is a strength or weakness depends on whether the values of that attribute can be ranked from worst to best or not.

So the various talents can’t be ranked from worst to best. a physician is not necessarily better than a plumber... if I need a plumber. But a given skill can be ranked from worst to best, so it’s not a strength to have crappy plumbers, mediocre plumbers and great plumbers. The best would be to have great plumbers.

Thanks for the theory of diversity. I’m probably not the scientist to put it to the test.

Individuals are labelled as our diversity and strength, when in reality it is what resided in their minds and hearts that is diverse, and not necessarily in a positive way.

The left wants to make Diversity all about appearance and nothing about what resides inside. Certain ideologies are in direct conflict with our Constitutional Republic. There are sufficient believers in such ideologies as to be dangerous to the survival of our Republic, and yet there are those outside those ideologies that tolerate or even support them by their actions. So much for “diversity is our strength”.
