The largest solar panel production facility of its kind in the Western Hemisphere is continuing to add staff at its $157 million factory in Dalton, Georgia, which began production six months ago.
The Korean solar panel maker Hanwha Q CELLS is conducting a hiring fair Thursday in Dalton, Georgia, as it adds another 50 jobs at its 200,000-square-foot plant in the Carbondale Business Park in Dalton. The plant already employs 600 workers and is expects to reach full production — and to conduct a ceremonial ribbon cutting — in the next month.
"Our first products shipped from the factory this February," said Scott Moskowitz, director of strategy and market intelligence for Hanwha Q Cells. "All production lines are currently running and we expect to be at full 1.7 gigawatt annual capacity in the very near future,"

In Georgia? If they wanted to hire Koreans don’t you think they’d have built the factory in Korea?

Again, if they wanted to employ Koreans why come to Georgia? There’s a very large Korean community here in Dallas/Ft Worth. Thanks the Lord or I wouldn’t have Korean restaurants to get food delivered from. Ever have Korean food?

Every new factory, no matter who it’s owned by, gets tax incentives.
Yes I have had Korean food and like it. That’s not the point. My point is I live in Atlanta and can drive up the street to Duluth Georgia and see signs on buildings in Korean and and nothing but mostly Koreans for a few miles. There is no more United States is my point. Through lax immigration policies, and chain migration we are competing with the rest of the world for any opportunities in our own country. Americans should have preference for these jobs and I suspect we don’t.
Apply for the job and see what happens.
Yep - Koreans have work ethic.
This facility does not build the components, frames or cabinetry for this solar equipment. It only assembles the final product.
Since none of the hardware is built here, the Made in USA should not be allowed on the equipment. Another way to pull the wool over the sheeples eyes.
The best fit for the job should be hired. America has catered to the "minorities" for way too long. Dictating hiring levels and meddling in the process.
If you can do the job, you are agreeable with pay then you are in competition with everyone else who is interested in the job. The hiring should reflect that we hired the best person for the job not by some damn quota.

So what is your point? I lived in places with local histories going back to the Irish, Italians, Poles, Czechs, Germans, Vietnamese, English, Swedes, you name it. That’s how America was built. They came here to be Americans, but enjoyed their shared heritage as well.

Yes, if they are Americans then it really Doesn’t matter where they are from .
First generation syndrome. Their kids will be "regular Americans". I'd sure as hell rather Koreans than Somalis (or any other Islamic migrants). The Koreans will be on our side when the head-choppers try to take over. Of course, best would be Gurkhas, but they seem happy back home.
