Over the 20 years most of us have been brainstorming this kind of stuff there really has not been a good answer. We have all been through this again and again. I am always reminded of beware the man who has one rifle, he likely knows how to use it. The best answer is have one you know well and keep it to hand. It may be regrettable but if the day comes try to take as many as you can with you. The rest of us will appreciate it. I promise to do my best.
such illegal ‘laws’ get about 2 percent compliance level or less
(for obvious reasons)
Well, you should be home when that tree comes down. I mean nothing is fool proof. But underground is not possible in many areas. And no threat of sparky the wonder mutt sniffing up a 50 feet up in the air or Mr. Metal detector digging up your stash.
I think that's the general idea of the Left.
This is exactly what will happen. Bundy ranch type standoffs where the confiscators are surrounded ten to one. Moles within law enforcement will tip off the intended target.
Folks we had better turn up the heat to stop the oppresive arrogance of red flag laws or this will end very badly. We need to convince the President these laws will not stop mass murderers and are a clear recipe for disaster.
We also need to reverse the trend of the crazily armed army of federal agencies most of which have no business being armed in any capacity much less having hundreds of tactical teams armed with military weapons and equipment. History has shown this type of build up of arms often proceeds oppressive conquest. This is the reason we see the arrogance of openly talking about forced gun confiscation being considered by democrat presidential candidates and current office holders. In a nutshell they believe they have the military capacity within these federal agencies to forcibly disarm the American people. The Constitution provides for the people to be armed and the central government to establish the military but there is no Constitutional authority for heavily armed federal agencies.
I’ve said that too. No point in burying.
Okay,
Yup. Give up the plastic before treasured blued steel and wood.
PVC is impermeable to water, so the leakage was due to the “sealed” end caps. However they were sealed it wasn’t good enough, and I would suspect seasonal temperature variations contributed a lot as the pipe and caps would expand/contract repeatedly.
Maybe we should take a lesson from the ancients. We still find sealed clay pottery jars in the bottom of the Mediterranean that haven’t been compromised thousands of years later. The Greeks and Romans sealed those with ceramic caps and tree resin/pitch, possibly with wax, lime or other simple compounds added.
From what I understand the wine or whatever in those recovered containers is not drinkable. Even though sealed and what was inside may have looked like wine it was contaminated. Given enough time I suspect nothing is completely impervious. I was surprised to learn from my sailing friend that fiberglass and gel coat were not impervious.
There is quite a bit of difference between burying something in the ground - above the water table - and actually in the water.
Anyone that lives in an area with at lest some variations in the terrain should be able to find an area that will stay dry.
Add to that properly preparing the pvc vault - pipes can keep water OUT as well as in.
What other choice do we have - let the commies confiscate every gun?
That will also work.
Below ground level but above the water table or elsewhere.
There is no point in leaving guns in one place, ready to be confiscated.
They can do that, but in most places you can still dispose of your stuff whatever way you want.
Everyone can bank on the commiecrats wanting gun registration if they ever manage to get UBC’s.
Its not about the guns. Like Ayn Rand said, the point of these laws is to turn you into a criminal.
Like I said. Keep one gun you are very good with to hand. It protects the others.
That’s what it sounds like it’s happening in New Zealand.
People know that a gun is a last line of defense, you only get to give them up once.
The rule of threes (or more) works here as well.
Maybe the desert folks can have earthquake accidents.
Yes, I’ve heard it’s not drinkable too, but I don’t think it was because seawater got in, but because the chemical reactions that happen in wine eventually changed it into “not-wine”.
Does he know?
