32 years ago Houston was nearly a ghost town. You could drive from the Galleria to Alvin in about 35 minutes reliably.

In 1996 you could drive from Magnolia to I-10 and 6 in 40 minutes.

Banish the thought of either feat today. I don’t think it is better.
