Hadrian's Wisdom: Why America Needs a Wall
American Greatness ^ | June 18, 2019 | Spencer P Morrison

Nearly 1,900 years ago, Roman Emperor Hadrian built a great wall across Britain. It was 73 miles long, and divided the Roman province of Britannia from the realms of the “painted men” to the north. Why?

The northerners were not particularly dangerous. Even if they were, they could quite easily climb the wall—or row around it! Perhaps more importantly, Queen Boudicca’s rebellion proved that Britannia’s greatest threat was its native Celtic population. And what exactly was Hadrian protecting? Britain’s north was an empty expanse of pastures and forests. Who cares if tattooed peasants herded their sheep in the hills? Rather than wasting precious Denarii on a wall, Hadrian should have fortified Roman cities and spent the rest on bread and circuses!

Hadrian’s Wall has stood since its completion in 128 AD. It witnessed the fall of Rome, the Saxon invasions, and the Norman Conquest. It survived King John’s antics, Oliver Cromwell’s violence, and the Kaiser’s wrath. It outlasted Bath’s bathhouses, the Globe Theater, and it will certainly outlive the Shard and its ostentatious glass cousins at Canary Wharf. Men have lived and men have died. The wall remains.

This is why Hadrian built his wall. And this is why Trump must build his. A wall is not just brick and mortar, nor steel and concrete—it is an enduring symbol of a people’s commitment to their sovereignty, their brethren, and their future.

Isn’t Hadrian’s Wall almost always depicted as a negative watershed moment for the Romans? It was the moment they stopped expanding and turned inward, a high-water mark and cultural turning point that changed the nature of Roman civilization, a prelude to its eventual collapse. No?

We need more that just the wall for Comprehensive Immigration Enforcement. The list goes like this -
1) southern barrier;
2) require eVerify to hire;
3) end all chain migration;
4) birthright per Minor v. Happersett (plural parents);
5) end work visas;
6) 10-year moratorium on all new applications for citizenship (40 years to allow workplace automation effects on downsizing population)
7) demonstrate English proficiency to acquire citizenship and pass civics test.

Enactment of these provisions will motivate illegal aliens to SELF-deport.

Also consider reciprocation of the laws of the countries of origin of the illegal aliens. For example, Mexico doesn’t allow land ownership or voting to immigrants, and doesn’t honor birthright citizenship like its citizens expect from the U.S. We should offer the same deal to them.

So we turn the stockade over to the Indians? Really?

It would be different if the new ‘people’ would assimilate and respect their host country. But that’s not gonna happen, no matter how much free stuff we give away.

This guy’s an idiot. First of all, the Picts weren’t Celts, Boudica wasn’t a northerner (her tribe was from what today is East of England) and Hadrian’s Wall didn’t even isolate England from the Picts because the North West and North East regions of today’s England — the regions just south of the wall — also were heavily settled by them.

And Hadrian didn’t build the wall to prevent Celtic invasions or raids. It was too picayunish to stop a major invasion and too sparsely guarded to deter raiding.

He built it to control migration and the trafficking of goods between the north and the south.
