12 Reasons Men Should Choose Natural Birth Control
Natural Womanhood ^ | October 19, 2014 | Gerard Migeon

Some children in the inner city context grow up never knowing anything else. So when they’re exposed to a country setting, the mountains, the beach, it may be exciting, but it can also be uncomfortable and even scary for them. They’d rather retreat back to the confined, polluted and unsafe environment they’re used to. But we can all agree that they miss out. In the same way, most men have been conditioned to women being on contraceptives. They can hardly imagine the world without them and they need help (hello women!) being taken there for the first time and shown that it’s actually a safer, better place to breathe. That’s also my story.

I came to natural birth control by accident. Twice. And the second time it took. The first time was when Anna and I had been married about three years. We decided to conceive our second child. Since our first was a boy, Anna really wanted a girl. Her mother sent her a book about how to choose the sex of you baby. The science behind it was fertility charting. You had to know exactly the time of ovulation and time love-making accordingly. Without realizing it, we started using natural birth control. And it worked: we had our little girl. But after we did, guess what, we went back to what we were used to. Even though she knew exactly when she could get pregnant or not, it never crossed her mind to rely only on that knowledge to avoid pregnancy the way she had to achieve it.

.. Yeah, that only works if you have a regular cycle. Many women don’t, and I never did, which led to a hysterectomy. A transplant recipient should avoid the number of blood transfusions that I needed. Sometimes I went a year with no cycle occurring, then had one continue for 14 months.

Personally, I think there should be some form of backup if you’re not looking to have children at the time you’re intimate. The Human body is affected by many things, and cycle-charting isn’t always completely accurate.

Also, the male half determines the baby’s sex.

I’m torn.

If men chose to copulate with leftists, Please Use Protection. Condoms, barriers, cold showers, scissors anything to keep those people from reproducing.

As for the rest, ...never mind.

There is truth to natural family planning contributing to the togetherness of a marriage. It’s also not foolproof but it works pretty well at avoiding fertility. Stress or travel or other things can still change up the predicted cycle. And sperm still can live for 5 days. But yes, having times to have sex and not have sex has kept orthodox Jewish couples’ passons alive.

But timing or positioning sex cannot determine gender. The chance is already 50-50 so this guy can’t prove they planned for and achieved their girl. He’s fooling himself.

To be honest, all of this is idiocy.

The best contraceptive is.....having children. More than one.

But for those who are trying to conceive, go and have fun and not worry about the sex of the child. I have two boys and really didn’t care one way or the other. 10 fingers, 10 toes, and everything else where it was supposed to be. The idea that we could “chose the sex” with charting etc. is insane. You’ve got a 50/50 chance, with the “nominal” odds favoring the sex of a previous pregnancy.

I am reminded of the old joke, “What do you call people who use natural birth control? Answer: Parents.”

I do not think I ever had a regular cycle unless I was on the pill. So keeping track of my cycle would never have worked. Many things can affect a woman’s cycle as well, even women who are usually regular. Since sperm can live in the body for days, a pregnancy can easily happen if ovulation is off from the calculated day.

Natural family planning does not exclusively rely on number of days in one’s cycles. The sympto-thermal method also relies on temperature, vaginal moisture, and detecting where your cervix is and it’s texture (high/low, open, not). Even people who are in menopause can figure out what’s going on, usually.

Another thing is natural family planning is most helpful to s...p...a...c...e... children— not eliminate their possibility entirely. When combined with ecological breast feeding, which delays resumption of fertility after childbirth, many people can experience success in having a family they can sanely and affordably raise. With no hormonal birth control needed.

Contraceptives make sense, whether natural or barrier. Oral hormones are dangerous though. Two married students should not be having children. A couple going through family crises, out of work, caring for sick relatives or a sick child, there are a million reasons to care about birth control. Even if it’s temporary. And certainly a middle class family can stop procreating after 4, in order to give their kids decent opportunities.

Same goes for many women.

Humans, I will venture to say, are unique in that the male has any interest or involvement in the birthing of offspring.

The catholic method is the only one pleasing to G-d

All birth control that involves medical intervention or prophylactics is evil

You have to be a VERY IN CONTROL MALE however. If you don’t want a CATHOLIC SIZED FAMILY !

I don’t know is it true or libel but once heard that Catholics has a disproportionately large percentage of retarded children comparing to the rest of the population precisely because of universally practicing this method which is not near efficient to be even considered contraception but mostly insures that if fertilization to take place it would be with a downgraded egg at its worst genetic shape.

The way I understand the mechanics of the process it sounds like a legit assumption.
