“” “” Zhukov and Eisenhower got along very well. One wonders if Zhukov actually led the Soviet Union, with Ike in the White House, how things might have turned out.”” “”

There was a plan to get along and finish the Cold War between Ike and Khruschev but it was derailed by the U-2 event.
It was somehow similar to what we see nowadays. Deep State is not a novel phenomenon.

“” “” Ukrainians murdered over 100,000 Poles in Volhynia during the war.”” “”

Yes, they did.

Volhynia was the only occassion I know of where the Poles actually asked the Wehrmacht for assistance.

After the war, the Polish communist regime took its revenge against the Ruthenians in Bieszczady.

However, there are other examples. After WWI Poles and Ukrainians fought a bitter street-by-street fight for control of Lwow, with the Poles winning. Despite that battle, when the Poles sent a division to oppose Trotsky's Red Army, local Ukrainians supplied another two divisions of volunteers to support them. When I brought this example up to some Ukrainians in Lviv a couple of years ago, they said, "We all recognize who the real enemy is."
