“I think it was the CIA pushing this,” he added. “Real intel experts looked at this and said no, this is not intel,
this is garbage and they took it out. But in this process the idea that they would include something like that
in one of the great stellar intelligence assessments (as Mueller also found out) is highly questionable.
Needs to be investigated.”

If the FBI and CIA really thought that Russians were attempting to interfere, infiltrate, or sabotage a democrat campaign, they would have gone directly to the leadership of that campaign and informed them of the threat, and asked for their cooperation in discovering and capturing the foreign culprits.
Everyone with two brain cells to rub together knows intuitively what the primary over-arching objective was; get Trump. Not get the Russians.
Spy on him.
Install moles.
Send in trolls.
Entrap.
Even set up entire COUNTER INTELLIGENCE operations against him.
Not against the Russians. Against an American citizen running for office.

Why is she saying it was not her signature? Was someone else using her name? You would think that would be important, and they would be anxious to know.
Does CIA ‘spy’? Yes. [nods head, affirming the spying] uh, do we spy against our foreign adversaries? Yes. [nods again] Do we spy against domestic individuals? No, we do not [nods head repeatedly during this, indicating deception]. We cuw…we worked very closely [hunched shoulders] with the FBI[he just admitted CIA coordinated with the FBI to spy on the Trump Campaign], and when the Russians were trying to interfere in that election, and to change the outcome of it in their favor, we, the CIA and FBI, worked very collaboratively so that we could have that ability to see what the Russians were doing and who they were working with.
So when William Barr said ‘spying’, it clearly indicated that there was something that was inappropriate, if not illegal [nods head]. Nobody used the term spying when they’re referring to legitimate, predicated, authorized investigative actions that were part of the FBI. [Note how he leaves out the CIA in that passage.
Wallace: Why do you think he uses it? Is it taunting, does it signal to the intelligence community that he’s coming for you? Does it signal that he’s watched too much Sean Hannity? What does that word mean inside the intelligence community?
Brennan: Well I think he’s playing to Mr. Trump. I think throughout that testimony it was clear that what Mr. Barr was doing was try to say things and to try to characterize things [rapid eye-blinking throughout this] in a manner that was consistent with what Mr. Trump has said, but also very supportive of it. So, eh, and wh…and when he responded to Kamala Harris and others on these issues [looks down and to the left] he thought about it and they asked him, well, was there spying? Well, well yeah, there was.[!]
Brennan is essentially saying “It isn’t spying because we get to do that.” I don’t think that particular approach is going to cut much ice.
