Virginia Gov. wants to be ‘civil’ discussing infanticide? That’s not going to happen

February 1, 2019 (LifeSiteNews) – For those who question whether abortion is really “baby killing,” the governor of Virginia, Ralph Northam, has left us no doubt. Not only does he advocate the possible killing of a newborn baby, he wants us to be “civil” when discussing it.

This is reminiscent of Nazi leaders discussing the slaughter of Jewish children, women, and men in icy, dispassionate terms the way an accountant would discuss balancing the books. Such is the face of evil.

Earlier in the week, it was reported that, “During a radio interview on Wednesday morning, Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam (D) seemed to endorse killing an infant after it has already been delivered alive (specifically, in the case of a baby surviving an abortion)."

“In the scenario described by Northam, a baby would be born alive and resuscitated if necessary, and then doctors and the mother could ‘have a discussion’ which, based on context, would determine whether or not the child would be killed.

While pro-life advocates view all abortion as infanticide, what Northam described would be infanticide by any definition.”

This, of course, is the deadly and logical progression of the spirit of abortion.

It is not satisfied with terminating the life of a 12-week-old baby which could not live outside the womb. It is not satisfied with terminating the life of a 32-week-old baby which could live outside the womb. It must also kill the baby outside the womb if the baby somehow managed to survive an abortion.

That’s what the infamous Kermit Gosnell did. Killing babies inside the womb wasn’t enough.

To repeat: This is the deadly and logical progression.

That’s why, in 1995, President Clinton vetoed the Partial Birth Abortion Ban Act. Then, 20 years later, in 2015, President Obama promised to veto the Born-Alive Abortion...

(and profit) in baby body parts.

(EXCERPT--WND.COM). Then-Pres Clinton is credited w/ opening up the market in fetal body parts. Since Clinton signed the National Institutes of Health Revitalization Act of 1993, “fetal-tissue research” has expanded into a federally subsidized multi-million dollar industry of selling human spare parts salvaged from abortions.

For example, the NIH budgeted $21 million in fiscal year 1999 for grants and awards for fetal tissue research. At the University of Washington, the NIH subsidizes the central laboratory for human embryology.

According to a lab notice obtained by WorldNetDaily, it “can supply tissue from normal or abnormal embryos and fetuses of desired gestational ages between 40 days to term. Specimens are obtained within minutes of passage, and tissues are aseptically identified, staged, and immediately processed according to the requirements of individual investigators.” The notice is signed by Alan G. Fantel of the department of pediatrics.

At the time, two organizations that profited from this growth industry were (the now defunct) Opening Lines, a business formerly located in West Frankfort, Illinois...... and Anatomic Gift Foundation, headquartered in Laurel, Maryland.

Opening Lines publicly gave credit to President Clinton for opening up the lucrative business in fetal tissue trade. According to Opening Lines, on January 22, 1993 (the infamous anniversary of legalized abortion---Clinton is not without an in-your-face governing style), Clinton lifted the moratorium on federal funding. “This action created a great demand for fetal tissue and has made possible the development of treatments for individuals afflicted with serious diseases and disorders,” says the Opening Lines sales brochure.

Both companies served as wholesalers for the marketing of baby body parts to researchers, drug companies, hospitals and universities. These groups harvest the baby parts from abortion clinics and ship them to their customers.

Opening Lines provides fetal tissue researchers with a “fee for service schedule,” which gives prices for each body part. For example, Opening Lines charged:

<><> $400 for an intact embryonic cadaver;

<><>$75 for 8-week-old baby's eyeballs (40% discount for a single eye);

<><>$150 for two arms or legs; and,

<><> $100 for the skin of a 12-week-old baby.

OK, well from a civil standpoint, infant mortality in Virginia is above the national average, which (for the record) is already above the national average of comparable nations. Should we be encouraging that rate to go up further with this bill, or should we be working to replicate the best practices of other nations in order to prevent the sorts of injuries to children being born that can kill or seriously degrade their quality of life?

The reason other countries have a lower infant mortality rate is because they don’t even try to save extremely premature babies and we do. Since they don’t even try they don’t count them. Since we do try, they get counted.

Are you saying we should stop trying to save preemies to improve our numbers?

Are you sure that is true? because Japan is not only saving their own preemies but they are also reaching out to African countries that have the highest rates of preterm births in the world. These countries also have high rates of infant mortality. If a premature baby dies, that drives up the mortality rate. We have a higher mortality rate than other countries, and Japan has the lowest infant mortality rate in the world.
