Over a third of young adults in Chicago — especially African Americans — want out of this city, citing racism, fractured police-community relations, neighborhood disinvestment and lack of jobs and economic mobility, a new study finds.
The University of Chicago’s GenForward Project surveyed African-American, Asian, Latinx and white young adults from 10 diverse neighborhoods, and found 36 percent want to leave the city — but as high as 46 percent in challenged neighborhoods like Englewood.
“We know that young people, especially millennials, are now the largest generation. They comprise the largest share of the workforce and eligible voters. To think about the shape of the country or the city without centering their voices is a mistake,” said Cathy Cohen, GenForward founder and U of C political science professor.
Not surprisingly, “Race & Place: Young Adults and The Future of Chicago,” found stark disparities in perspectives of white vs. African-American and Latinx young adults. For example, 1 in 3 African-American, 1 in 6 Latinx and 1 in 10 Asian millennials said they can’t depend on Chicago police in an emergency, vs. 8 percent of whites.

My friends it’s coming to a head. The best friend of wealth is youth and compound interest. Why park yourself in a college while you can make low wages for 4 years that have 4 valuable years to grow? End up in debt at age 22? There are churches that can keep ups going . Better than a lecture hall.

Most likely, the majority of such adults have never dealt with it, or don’t really care. This maybe something most done on college campuses, along with ‘Woke’ pronouns, such as
‘they, ze and zir’. A virtual minefield of microaggressions!
Wherever they move they will bring their troubles with them.
Something that progressivism does really well is teach people easily-repeated slogans. Also, progressivism trains people to imagine that the blame for all the problems it causes always lie elsewhere.

I read that about 10% of the black population moved out of Chicago between 2010 and 2017. And that about half of those, didn’t move to a suburb, but moved out of Illinois entirely.
Decent hard working black people don’t want to live in the cesspool.
Sadly that means more and more of those left behind are the troubled people.
Chicago residents just want Free stuff.
You work hard while your neighbor gets free stuff.

Have I got news for you!
NO ONE can depend on the police in an emergency.
If some one is breaking in to your home or mugging you or is raping you the police are not going to get there in time to save you or stop the crime.
The police typically show up after the fact to take a report and if you’re lucky investigate the crime.
For the most part, dealing with an emergency is not what the police are about.
If you have a real emergency, you had better give the police a call if you can and then set about dealing with it yourself. The police will show up in few minutes to write a report about it.
One third want to leave because of the other two thirds.
And in other news 9 out of 10 young african americans living in Chicago don’t have the skills or will to get a job and move but instead, would like to live someplace where the welfare benies are better so they can afford some really sweet Rims, like 28’s or sumthan. And a walmart that doesn’t have any loss prevention dudes! They hate those dudes!
