Civil war only if you watch too much cable news or you are a Jehovahs Witness. If you go out and walk amongst everyday people without obsessing on what differences you might have, you will find that our differences are small when put into perspective. Kill your television!
You must live in a nice conservative area.
In my years on this Earth, I’ve learned one thing:
When someone tells you they’re going to cause you harm - Believe them. They mean it.
Especially when they feel froggy enough to jump.
>>Kill your television!
John Prine was way ahead of his time when he wrote this 45ish years ago.
Blow up your TV, throw away your paper
Go to the country, build you a home
Plant a little garden, eat a lot of peaches
Try an find Jesus on your own

Me, I think its time to check zeros, as someone has suggested.
The 24 hour news cycle, smart phones, and social media is definitely part of it. Most people that care about culture and politics vastly overestimate the number of people who care like they do. One look at the eligible voter turnout for the last 100 years kind of proves it.
It’s also hard for me to imagine a civil war occurring while the poorest people are the most likely to be obese and are the most entertained poor people ever. Maybe there’s a first time for everything.

“Kill your television!”
Amen to that!
This is not how wars happen, nor is this a telling observation.
I bet you could say the same about the common people on both sides of any war. What were the differences between the common German and the common Frenchman in 1939? They had about the same fears and desires and obligations. The German was no monster who thirsted for French blood, and if asked would have said he was against a war. And so on, in just about every case.
Wars happen when an activist minority starts one. Then the opposing activist minority reacts.
Go for your little walk wearing a MAGA hat. I dare ya.
