Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Wednesday asked President Donald Trump to reschedule his State of the Union address — or deliver it in writing — as long as the government remains shut down.
"Sadly, given the security concerns and unless government re-opens this week, I suggest that we work together to determine another suitable date after government has re-opened for this address or for you to consider delivering your State of the Union address in writing to the Congress on January 29th," Pelosi wrote in a letter to Trump.

The President should consider keeping it as scheduled. Let the Republicans all show up, and the Democrats stay in PR, their districts, or wherever the hell they’re lurking. The optics of the half-empty seats will be fabulous on TV.

Shutdown is just an excuse for her. I expected that they would not extend an invitation to deliver the SOU until after 2020.
She’s afraid because she knows he can, and will, use the Bully Pulpit LIVE ON NATIONAL TV, to shame the Dems and call them out by name....................................
She already did it on the first business day, January 03. She invited him to give it on January 29.

I think you’re right. If Pelosi says to zig, it’s probably best to zag. However, if and when Trump gives the address, the Democrats will boo him as no president has been booed before. Perhaps that’s unavoidable.
Will that make the Democrats look bad? Not really. Because in this polarized country, half the electoral will approve of the booing.
Just ignore the dried out old Biddy.
Tell Pelosi that Trump will give the address in the Senate chamber instead. Sadly, the seating will be limited so only Republicans will be able to attend.

Dem’s optics have suffered greatly in the last few weeks.
