A glassware company in Wisconsin has announced that each employee will get a brand new gun for Christmas, according to reports.

Shot glass-maker BenShot of Appleton, Wisconsin, told the media that the gifts will also serve as a “team building” exercise, according to the Appleton Post-Crescent newspaper.

Along with “team building,” BenShot owner Ben Wolfgram said he is also promoting self-protection.

They could give out some pink ones, with the words “Girl Power!” engraved on the barrel, to make feminists happy.

You know what would make my day? And possibly my year, and the rest of my life?

Have a presidential candidate, either Trump in 2020 or any other republican candidate, propose a Tesla-like subsidy for guns. If the government can grand tax discounts and/or subsidies to “specialized cars”, why not to gun purchasers? After all, gun ownership is a protected right, and the government should be encouraging people to own them. (Responsibly, of course).

No. Bad idea. Subsidies of any kind are theft from the taxpayers.

True. I agree.

But, it's about showing the error of their ways. I'm speaking about how democrats are all about subsidies and grants for causes they champion, while demonizing other causes that republicans "might" champion. Subsidies for electric cars, and for "climate change" studies? Fine with democrats. Gun ownership tax discounts? Not so much. Yet, there is only one that is guaranteed under the U.S. Constitution.

BTW, aren't tax discounts the same as money that should not have been taken from wage-earners to begin with? Aren't taxes, especially federal taxes, the same as theft from working people? Getting some of our money back is not "theft", but a return of something that should not have been taken to begin with. Giving money to folks that didn't earn it to begin with, that's theft.

Liberals are always shocked about something. William Buckley said liberals claim to be open to different opinions, but are shocked and angered when they find out there are others who actually have different opinions (that’s a paraphrase on my part).

You said in your original post, subsidy, not tax cut. A subsidy would be the Federal Government taking $ from one group of taxpayers and then handing them out to another group. A tax cut is simply not taking the money in the first place. I’m 100% opposed to subsidies, and 100% in favor of tax cuts.
