IMO Mueller is marginalizing himself even more in public opinion by crying about someone offering money for information, because it’s something the rags do all the time, at least against politicians and high profile bureaucrats. Perhaps it’s different with prosecutors and judges, but I don’t think you’re winning sympathy with the press or the public with tales of personal conspiracy.
