PHOTOS: #WalkAway from Democrats Rally Draws Hundreds of Patriots, ‘We Love America and Trump’
Breitbart ^ | 28 October 2018 | Penny Starr

The gathering at Freedom Plaza in Washington, DC, on Saturday was a stark contrast to recent rallies where people dressed in black and held signs disparaging President Donald Trump and members of his administration. The #WalkAway rally featured a sea of red, white, and blue-clad participants, waving flags, wearing Make America Great hats, and even pussy hats made infamous during the Women’s March were transformed into bright red, Trump-supporting headgear.

The success of a weekend of events to support Trump and Republicans ahead of the midterm elections on November 6 even impressed Brandon Straka, the former Democrat who launched the #WalkAway movement five months ago when he posted a video on his Facebook page urging others who are fed up with the failed policies and mob rule mentality of today’s Democrat Party to leave it.

“We planned a really, really amazing weekend that we hope is going to wake a lot of people up — open a lot of people’s eyes,” Straka said, adding that, no, he could not have imagined celebrating at Trump International Hotel with hundreds of other #WalkAway liberals and the conservatives who support them, dubbed #WalkWiths, on the eve of the march and rally.

“I definitely did not think when I released my video on May 26 that I would be standing in Trump International Hotel, wearing an ‘I love Trump’ top hat and tuxedo,” Straka said.

Breitbart News spoke with some of those who have joined the movement and traveled from as far away as California to take part in the D.C. event.

I wanted to go but I had to work.

Supporting people who have woken from their stupor and are now seeing the destructive nature of today’s Democrat party is important.
We should all take the time to help them understand Constitutionalism once they have had their red pill moment.

#Walkaway is off to a fine start, I wish them well. The awfulness of yesterdays madness in the Pittsburgh Synagogue was just about all the news coverage people heard.

That actually is a good number. Many probably stayed home for the rain, couln’t make the trip to D.C., some probably fear the backlash, and a host of other reasons.

Bill Mitchell on Twitter said the media (including right wing Breitbart) have the attendance numbers wrong...

“The media is claiming “hundreds” at the #Walkaway March. Actual numbers, 5500.”

Here is some footage of the thousands marching...

There are thousands of them. I’m a member of the #WalkAway campaign group on Facebook and found this testimony from a woman that walked away. I’m a WalkWith. We help and support the people walking away. Some of us asked if we could post her comment and she said yes but not to Share. She said we could copy and paste it without her name. Her name and picture is available in the group but she’s afraid to be completely public.

“I think I feel safe to share my #WalkAway story here. I am a Muslim Immigrant woman, originally from Pakistan but a US citizen. I loved Obama and democrat platform in 2008 because he promised “hope and change” and a stop to war, he also promised to represent the middle class. Around 2010 I was done with him. He continued to kill innocent children in Pakistan through his drone program. I felt like I was lied to. I was glad I was not a citizen back then so i didn’t get to vote for him. I was introduced to Ron Paul by a family member and I fell in love with his ideology. That’s where the #WalkAway journey started but I still had a lot of questions ane concerns because I have always heard that Republicans hate Muslims. I was terrified when Trump was nominated to represent the Republican platform. It would be important to mention that I have always been against Abortion as a Muslim. I absolutely hated president Trump after he was nominated because I was reading headlines that said “Trump to start a Muslim registry” (similar to what Hitler had for Jews) and other very disturbing headlines. One day I woke up to a headline that said “Trump to deport millions of Immigrants” and that was extremely disturbing. I am so glad that day I decided to read more, and i found out he was only talking about illegal immigrants with a criminal record. He was not talking about people like myself who came here by legal means. I looked further and found out the whole “Muslim registry” was also a lie, it was a poorly edited video that the news channel put together where Trump was discussing illegal aliens with criminal records. That was an eye opener. I also noticed that my Christian friends were treated horribly online and offline by the democrats who always claimed to be tolerant. I was also bullied multiple times when i stood up against abortion. When I looked at discussions between the Republicans and Democrats online, Republicans used facts, Democrats used emotions and feelings and name calling. I saw my republican friends being called horrible names and constantly be on the defense. In 2016 I voted for Castle from the constitutional party because there were still a lot of questions and concerns. Some of my liberal friends were mad at me and they told me I was the reason they lost. As soon as the president was elected, I started feeling like i have my own advocate running the Whitehouse. Everyone else prior to that has only talked about middle class while taking a chunk from my paycheck. President Trump started implementing policies that directly impact myself and my family. Tax cuts, cutting regulations like Dodd-Frank that impact small investors like myself, preserving our freedom of speech, signing executive order to advance women in STEM, the numbers from our economy are excellent. Not only that, he also visited Saudi Arabia AND under him, 0 Children have died in Pakistan through drone strikes. My baby boy was also in NICU who doctors wanted to pull the plug on and I fought to keep him alive, he is now a thriving 11 month old, but under socialized healthcare he would be dead because doctors and state would have decided his fate which was a death sentence. I have COMPLETELY #WalkedAway and have openly come out as a Muslim Republican who is a proud American and a proud supporter of our President. I voted Republican in Midterms to preserve my right as an American Muslim Texan Mom. President Trump is the best leader this world has ever seen. He is the true #PeacePresident. He puts us first. This was my story. Feel free to ask any questions you may have. #MuslimsWalkingAway #WakeUp #WalkAway #RUNAway”

The feed was seen yesterday for a very short time. The crowd was disappointing, but better than anticipated. Not loud or boisterous. Gathered in front of a musician on stage playing a guitar and singing. Believe this was RSBN but not certain on that fact. All movements must begin somewhere. It would be good to see this one move forward with greater steam.

“The feed was seen yesterday for a very short time.”

The feed ran from before noon until a little after 5 p.m. if you were on RSBN, for some reason that abruptly ended around 2 p.m. (Who know why? It just got stuck.)

I wached on the #WalkAway website and was pretty impressed. Some of the speakers don’t do public speaking as a rule, but spoke from the heart and made good points. I was disappointed when it took on a strong homosexual emphasis. Mention it ... fine, but the organizer Straka, went too far IMHO.

The speakers before the actual marching began were unpolished but were excellent. Attacked militant feminism. Attacked the Ford lies to bring down Kavanaugh, and throw out the concept of presumption of innocence. Stood up for the strong men in our lives.
