In the 19th century, savvy American saloon-owners offered free lunches to attract noontime patrons. Inevitably, the diners would get thirsty and buy expensive drinks—thus was born the expression, “there’s no such thing as a free lunch.” Despite its humble origins, the phrase captures a deep and omnipresent truth: everything has a price, an opportunity cost, a trade-off.
This is as true of lunches as it is of America’s immigration policy. Although The Economist‘s propaganda-artists claim otherwise, mass immigration does not enrich all Americans. There are obvious winners and losers. The winners are wealthy Americans and the immigrants themselves; the losers are everyone else, especially the working class, Millennials, and black Americans.
Black Americans are an interesting demographic. On the one hand, black Americans vote for Democrats by obsequious margins—often in excess of 90 percent. And yet black Americans are hurt most by the Democrats’ immigration policy.
In short: mass immigration, legal and illegal, disproportionately hurts black Americans because they are the ones most likely to compete directly with immigrants for work.

And YES, since illegals aren’t taking computer programming and Financial Analyst jobs, they Are indeed hurting blacks more.

There are a lot of blacks who would love to have a $20 to $30 per hour construction job. If you think illegals only mow lawns and clean houses you are nuts. Welders, construction workers, plasterers, painters, electricians are just some of the jobs they get with stolen identities.
That’s one of the biggest reasons why liberals love illegal immigration.
Dems remain slaveholders.
The left-wing elites prefer illegals to Americans, especially blacks and other minorities. The left prefers to exploit people.
Yes, young black and white Americans would like to mow yards, and earn some spending money or put it into their savings. Older black Americans would like to mow lawns rather than have no job at all. Back in the day, when I was young, teenagers mowed lawns, bagged groceries, pumped gas. Older black Americans might very well have landscaping businesses. There were also plenty of domestic jobs available for both men and women of all races who did not have a lot of education. There was a way up out of poverty for the poor if they wanted to work for it. It was not uncommon for the black housekeeper to have a grandson who was going to college or a good vocational school. There was a way up, these illegal immigrants have stolen this from our own people.
Not to worry in another 5 or 10 years ...illegals will be taking the computer jobs,too.
I agree. Whenever I walk past new construction in my neighborhood, it’s all Spanish music cranked up on the boom boxes. My in-laws are all 2nd generation legal immigrants from Mexico and make their livings from construction, so these guys are direct competition for them. Trump won because someone finally gave a ratsa__ about blue collar people.
I heard a black man call into a talk show once. He said that in the past black men starting out, could get jobs as janitors, maintenance, etc, working for various companies. Now those companies contract out to businesses who bring in teams of illegals to do the work.
Thus a traditional pathway up for unskilled black folks gets gutted by illegals and their unscrupulous employers, with taxpayers ending up with the tab.

I want to live with American values, not South American values.
What is amazing is how many decent kids there still are.
Some of them just need a little guidance.
Perhaps moreso than previous generations.
Remember when you were a kid?
Just last week there was a thread here on FR about a company in Ohio that had several hundred job openings for semi-skilled positions with good pay and great on-the-job training. The employer couldn't fill the positions because 90% of the applicants failed the drug test.
ACTUALLY..., in our area they are the only kids looking to work! The white kids are pampered and their parents do not push them to work at much!
