As I posted to another person on this thread, nobody, BUT NOBODY, goes through what Kavanaugh has been put through unchanged!

Not only did the damned Dems go after this once "moderate" with lies, calumny, and the worst kind of defamation, they used his high school yearbook to attempt to turn what he wrote in it, into supporting "proof" of the muck that was thrown at and all over him. THERE IS NOTHING, NOTHING, LEFT TO BLACKMAIL HIM WITH ( as they did to Roberts ), TO TURN HIM.

He is the right vessel that has set the GOP voters, Indies, and yes, some DEM voters against the Dems, just in time for the midterms.

“The funniest thing is- Brett Kavanaugh is a moderate-centrist, a long-time Bushie who grew up an Inside-the-Beltway preppie, an Ivy League graduate, and probably felt more at home with Democrats than Conservatives.”

On social issues, though, Kennedy was a radical leftist. He wrote the Texas Sodomy decision (lawrence v texas) and the Homosexual marriage decision, for example.

Replacing Kennedy with a moderate centrist probably won’t reverse the bad stuff the Court has already done on the social issues. But it will be a complete halt to the Court continuing to serve as the fist of Che Guevara’s revolution on social issues (unless Roberts goes south and becomes the new swing vote).

Also, in terms of the out-of-control lower court Obamajudges who seem to declare everything Trump does as unconstitutional and enjoin it, we may well see them get reined in hard. That’s a big deal because even if it gets reversed on appeal because it’s obviously wrong, the Trump agenda is delayed by years. I’m thinking Kavanaugh will be in no mood to be a nice guy to the hard left judges below.

And, their dream of confiscating our guns just died for many years. Had they been able to keep the court 4-4 until power changes hands, they could have piecemealed us state by state with no effective appeal to a court that would impose order on second amendment issues.

So it’s kind of a big deal.

Some overcompensate, especially when your academia friends are calling for your head. Anyway, he has is own philosophy which includes operating under stare decisis which any independent Judge should shun.

Case law is another word for Super Legislature which is not the original intent of the Constitution at all. Alexander Hamilton "promised" that would not be the case when Robert Yates criticized Article III of the Constitution. History proved Yates was correct.

Did Kavanaugh apologize for his Patient Affordability Care Act dissent where Roberts lifted his opinion to sustain that bastardized legislation? That right there is evidence that Kavanaugh believes in a negative tax. At best I hope he is like Alito (Would gladly take that), time will tell though.

Well, it is what it is, for good or no now. And we won't know what Kavanaugh will or won't do, until he has been on SCOTUS ( if he gets there, which he shall...come hell or high water now )for a while.

We all need to get out there and vote and get others to also vote a straight GOP ticket, come November, so that the next nominee for SCOTUS, that Trump puts up ( please let THAT be very soon !), is easily confirmed, because the GOP has a much larger majority in the Senate.

The left can’t withstand anything remotely resembling a revolution

Actually, we may see a lot of political street drama reminiscent of the early French Revolution - or the 1960s - played out in the near future, but the country is sound enough not to have a full scale revolution.

You’re asking unanswerable questions and about a time when the DEMS hadn’t put him, his family, friends, and us through what we all just went through.

It will be more like the street revolution depicted in Les Miz: a few will get slaughtered in the streets and the rest will go and get some soy lattes. What are they fighting for that would make them sacrifice their lives?

I do pray that is the case. As a Justice and not a Judge that must adhere to SC opinions he may become more of a texualist rather than precedence or bust.

Having just read his Op-Ed letter, I am not as sanguine about him, as I had been when I was posting to you and others, about him, before reading it.

But it is what it is, now, writ in stone, so everyone is going to just have to live with what is.

The Dems would’ve done this to anyone Trump picked. Only the Dems choice would get a pass.

Yes, I see parallels to the French Revolution, but what I expect will more resemble the Bolshevik Revolution with an attempt at violent overthrow of an elected government. When Justice Ginsberg dies or is incapacitated and Trump nominates a third Justice there will be riots in the streets, acts of terrorism and I fear political assassinations. I could see Obama creating a shadow government in the chaos and even inviting UN “peacekeepers” to restore order and him to the presidency. We could count on the US military to quickly intervene and restore Constitutional government.

Now if RGB drops dead after next November the Dems will try to stop her replacement. Which means we have a fixed conservative bench through 2020.
