This will be typical of congressional hearings, and quite unlike our entire civil and criminal justice system, which is premised on burdens of proof and procedural rules that protect the accused. The entire spectacle will instead become a barometer for the audiences and inquisitors virtue: do you believe women or not? In other words, are you on the side of truth, justice, feminism, and the American way, or are you on the side of the sexist, retrograde America of Trump and yesteryear? The ordinary concerns for due process, the presumption of innocence, and common sense will have little weight. By having the hearing, Republicans will accept implicitly the leftist premises about the new feminist model of "believing women," while rejecting the old American principle of presuming innocence. Worse than this moral and political failing, they also naively believe that they can win the game on the merits, when the result is already foreordained.
The interface for posting directed this to the “bloggers forum.” So be it.
That was intended to be an excerpt, by the way. It was written by a lawyer.
It’s time for the Republicans to ask: “At long last, have you left no sense of decency?”
That was Dash Riprock Wilma, not Brett Kavanaugh.
We’ve gone from rule of law to reality TV. Pass the popcorn pass the popcorn, please. We are in danger of losing this nation. Immoral, international, unGodly fall of the American culture. Stat learning imvader languages.
Did Hannity presume Moore was innocent? I still haven’t forgotten that one, the most obnoxious moment in his radio history. He is using a double standard. He never demanded Kavanaugh call in within 24 hours.
Last night, I turned him off when he said that Kavanaugh’s accuser “deserves to be heard.” The gutless commentators are so “whupped” by the #me-too crowd that they come off like fawning, servile idiots.
No. Not every liar that comes up with a scurrilous lie deserves to be heard. And her vagina does not give her an automatic right to be heard or bestow nobility that demands she deal with the United States Senate on co-equal terms.
She has already been heard. Can she go further than that stupid letter she wrote. No, she cannot. If she could, she already would have.
Kavanaugh did not lay a finger on that woman..
It most certainly is according to this morning's news. Ford has declared she will not testify before the committee until the FBI has conducted an investigation.
No matter what her agenda may be as a woman or a leftist political operative, she has announced she will not act until the FBI does something it says it will not do.
In the face of that, the committee should schedule the vote for tomorrow, as it earlier planned, and then forward the matter to the full senate. The time for caution and handwringing is over.
Blasey-Ford has had 36 YEARS to get her story straight.
Ford has declared she will not testify before the committee until the FBI has conducted an investigation.

Ha! She doesnt even remember where this alleged party took place, who was there, who she was there with, the date it allegedly happened. She has no details. How does law enforcement investigate that? What a farce! Enough of this! If shes not going to testify, hold the vote on Thursday and arrest this woman for making a nuisance of herself by interfering with federal business.
Clearly, the FBI has to look into high school parties during the time period, all possible people in the area who could have attended these parties, interview them all?
I had thought the big push was the women are equal to men. I would presume that being equal means they are equally bent to be liars as men are. So why would we knee jerk believe every woman with a claim?
In this age, everyone is scared shitless of the scorned woman. Even Trump said at first to let her be heard. Obviously we need 50% of the vote - the woman vote - and the fear is that we cannot even suggest Ford, in public, is a bald faced liar.
HA!
Remember when some were claiming hillary had a “stunt double”.
