Tom Arnold is on a gonzo mission to save the world from Donald Trump.
On Sunday night, this two-year odyssey took a violent turn when Arnold got into a scrap with Mark Burnett, the TV mogul and longtime friend of the U.S. president. As Arnold tweeted just after midnight: “Mark Burnett just went apes--t & choked me at this huge Emmy party then he ran away with his torn Pink shirt & missing gold chain. I’m waiting for LAPD.”
According to Variety, the scuffle happened as both men entered the Evening Before Emmy party. Although details remain fuzzy, Arnold’s lawyer, Marty Singer, told the Hollywood Reporter that Burnett “attacked” his client. Meanwhile, Burnett’s wife, Roma Downey, accused Arnold of starting the altercation.
“Got this bruise tonight when Tom Arnold tried to ambush my husband Mark and me at a charity event,” she tweeted, with a photo of her injured hand. “Is your TV show worth it Tom? Please stop.”(continued)

I thought the Emmys (and all the other award shows) were nothing more than a chance for the Holly-weird folks to get together and have a nice big group hug. Or, when Harvey Weinstein was there, a group grope.
Los Angeles Police Department Officer Tony Im told USA TODAY Monday afternoon that Arnold filed a police report alleging Burnett assaulted him. Im would not comment on details of the report, and it was not immediately available.
