CHICAGO - If you've ever wondered why you don't see very many Trump bumper stickers or red MAGA caps when you're out and about in Illinois, well there's a reason: Trump isn't well-liked here, in case you haven't noticed.
In fact, Illinois is one of the nation's most anti-Trump states, according to a state-by-state approval rating poll released by Morning Consult. Illinois disapproves of Trump almost as much as Left Coast California and East Coast New York

Correction, Cook County and (IIRC) one other county I can never seem to remember the name of are the most Anti-Trump places. The rest of Illinois isn’t really.
Its why I actually hope for government bankruptcy.
IL, MA, CT, CA - and their progressive, thieving, corrupt governments will all go down the tubes first.
If it wasn’t for the red counties, the blue ones wouldn’t be there.

As to the headline, I suspect the feeling is mutual and that POTUS holds no special sentiments for IL.
There’s some affluent areas in Cook County.
GOPe Gov. Rauner and his Leftist wife, (Co-Governor), dream that he will be reelected. That ain’t happening.
Many Conservatives will skip the IL Gov. ballot, me included.

Rather than have a RiNO in office, might as well let the real Democrat take the office since it makes no difference anyway.
Illinois is up to their eyeballs in debt and corruption - of course they would hate Trump....
Creamy Bob threatens violence against the Trump campaign. The next Guber (Prickster) vows to make Ill-Annoy the epicenter of the “Resist Trump Movement”. The Barry Soetoro Lie-berry (Center for Progressive Anti-Trump Liberal Thought) is being built in Rahmabad, the crapitol city of Madiganistan. So, SURE, the state is anti-Trump. Duh!
Lisa Madigan, the Illinois Attorney General, is the stepdaughter of Michael J. Madigan, the long-time Illinois House Speaker and Illinois State Democratic Chairman. There is a coordinated Trump bashing campaign afoot as the Dems try to change the subject from their waste, corruption and higher taxes by appealing to anti-Trump sentiments to gain votes. There are Democratic candidates seeking positions not even remotely connected to national politics blaming Trump for everything.
The POTUS should wear that as a badge of honor as far as I’m concerned.
Apart from a few affluent suburbs, all of the Hillary Rotten Clinton votes came from union strongholds. Illinois has 102 counties and Trump carried about ninety.
Given the number of votes from Chicago (Cook County), Clinton’s 810,000 margin seems unimpressive, especially when one considers that Trump did not campaign or run ads in Illinois after the primary election and essentially ceded the state.
