Correction, Cook County and (IIRC) one other county I can never seem to remember the name of are the most Anti-Trump places. The rest of Illinois isn’t really.
Its why I actually hope for government bankruptcy.
IL, MA, CT, CA - and their progressive, thieving, corrupt governments will all go down the tubes first.
Exactly Illinois population is so concentrated in and around Chicago, that the rest of the state is overwhelmed by the lunacy
Folks in Chicago don’t tend to like New Yorkers, anyway.
As to the headline, I suspect the feeling is mutual and that POTUS holds no special sentiments for IL.
Illinois is up to their eyeballs in debt and corruption - of course they would hate Trump....
Creamy Bob threatens violence against the Trump campaign. The next Guber (Prickster) vows to make Ill-Annoy the epicenter of the “Resist Trump Movement”. The Barry Soetoro Lie-berry (Center for Progressive Anti-Trump Liberal Thought) is being built in Rahmabad, the crapitol city of Madiganistan. So, SURE, the state is anti-Trump. Duh!
The POTUS should wear that as a badge of honor as far as I’m concerned.

The tribune and the teachers union are very strong in Illinois. And they are very very pro-government employee. They are taking this state down hard. Lots of people have lots of pensions, some two or three. And some, you would not expect to have a pension, only working a few years but getting two and three times the credit of a normal employee.
Illinois is also losing citizens faster than any other state. And its those citizens that are mostly pro-Trump. Like a sauce on the boil, it gets stronger the longer you leave it on the stove. As does the anti-Trump feeling grow stronger as people flee the state.
Remember Illinois is Chicago. A recent governor won the race by losing every county in Illinois except for Cook County where Chicago is located. So the state is still pretty Rino republican. But the city very democrat and its 45% black. Whoever gets that vote wins the state.
