And that’s not just software patents.

I would think Lockheed Martin would more interested in propulsion. The fusion products would produce a significant thrust.

I've seen where the ITER in France has waste gates for the fusion products. I have yet to see a design for continuous feed.

Your point is spot on. The left does not want success. They want control. They can’t control self sufficient, content subjects. They need strife, suffering and dependence. They have to be able to promise a better existence (while simultaneously keeping subjects in misery and blaming others).

This is precisely why, no long term positive outcome can come to any liberal policy without devastating long term consequences and/or side effects.

The old American ideology (conservative) has always been, to provide a free environment for individuals to make of themselves whatever they can. The liberal ideology is to force behaviors and regulations to make everyone equal so that they do not envy thy neighbor. There is not much envy or jealousy in a torturous prison camp among the inmates.

BTW, I have a design for a fusion reactor (seriously). My thought was to apply for a provisional patent on it so that after a year it would pass into public domain.

You don’t think the energy oligarchs would let this out do you?

You should also mention the importance of LNG in the hydrocarbon business.

If I recall correctly, Perpetual Motion machines are explicitly excluded from patentability.

Trump pays little or no attention to them. We should follow suit.

Yes. It’s a device controlled by controller devices that we haven’t figured out how to control.

Yes. I will take all of the royalties on that.

Thanks for the ping, but the LM patent is old news. Probably the most exciting work that I have seen of late is the SAFIRE research. Some truly unexpected physics is being unveiled with some very interesting overlaps with LENR. Most exciting data I have seen in years:

The Great RJ, you are so right.

factoids

Power Utility companies are required to provide reliable power to their customers.
Customers will not tolerate the inconvenience of power interruptions.
Yet, windmills and solar farms are inherently unreliable.

A coal, oil or nuclear power plant has never been rendered unnecessary and closed because of solar farms or windmills.
A coal, oil or nuclear power plant construction has never been discontinued or construction slowed because of a solar farm or windmills.

Main Street businessmen will always put money into a project that is guaranteed to have customers, guaranteed to have a profit margin and guaranteed US Fed gov’t assistance because windmills and solar farms are not commercially competitive with coal, oil or nuclear power plants.

So as long as US Fed gov’t assistance continues, customers will pay inflated energy costs because windmills and solar farms are unreliable and power utilities are required to provide reliable power which equates to coal, oil or nuclear power plant.

This is similar to a home with an reliable furnace for heating the house. The homeowner is forced to purchase and maintain an additional furnace that only heats the home on windy or sunny days. If no wind or sun, then the homeowner is allowed to use his reliable furnace for heat. Meanwhile the homeowner must continue maintenance and repairs on two systems that serves the homeowner a single purpose - heating his home.

Therefore, windmills scarring our landscape and solar farms inadvertently frying our feather wildlife will always exist until US Fed gov’t assistance ends. Trust me, once US Fed gov’t assistance ends, the Main Street businessman will abandon these unprofitable projects.

All you need to do is contain a bit of deuterium heat it up to 15,000,000 degrees and pressurize it, then harvest the excess heat and xrays and convert that to electricity. No big whoop.

I almost did that with my magnifying glass while burning ants as a kid.

Today I learned you can register a patent for a device that doesn’t work.

And THEN you can sue the guy who copies it...:-)

OTOH, a patent can be invalidated when the claims are not workable...the USPTO does not really consider that in the examination process.

That is to say, good luck with your "fake" patent.

Case in point, the much celebrated "Hyper-Light-Speed Antenna", US Patent 6,025,810.

The present invention...takes a transmission of energy, and instead of sending it through normal time and space, it pokes a small hole into another dimension.. pure comedy gold.
